If anyone actually understood what jumping the shark means... Jumping the shark is the pinnacle, it is the greatest event in regards to something, everything else afterwards pales in comparison. Jumping the shark does not mean "starts to suck".

"Jumping The Shark is the moment when an established show changes in a significant manner in an attempt to stay fresh. Ironically, that moment makes the viewers realize that the show has finally run out of ideas. It has reached its peak, it will never be the same again, and from now on it's all downhill. "

Ok, I just watched the trailer. Let me summarize.
"You have done some really awesome stuff. Fought the Burning Legion, the Lich King, Deathwing himself!"
"Now you're getting ... a new continent." -_- Forgive my excitement.
ukwest Oct 21st 2011 4:09PM
Not just a new continent but one with kungfu pandas.
It looks cool and all, but I have this unshakable feeling that Blizz is trolling us. Like GC is sitting in his hotel room laughing his as off that they are going to get away with this.

It doesn't help that I absolutely detest the whole "Ninjas! Woo!" mindset.
Yeah, I really enjoyed "Kung Fu" when it was on TV. I was also four years old.

I'm certainly no expert at all on WoW lore so I have no idea where the King Fu Pandas came from, hopefully not out of some random developers ass. I trust there is some lore about them?
Also...level increase to 90 only????? How disappointing. So we'll all be level capped about a week after expansion opens. Shit. Hopefully they'll rethink that. The worst part abiout cata for me was the insanly easy leveling, there was no challenge whatsoever.
ukwest Oct 21st 2011 4:10PM
Nope, it was a random artists ass.
cloudhopper013 Oct 21st 2011 7:09PM
It was a random artist's ass at first, but then they polished it up and added lore (back in the RTS's, mind you. The "April Fools Joke" was them being added to WoW, not them being added to the warcraft universe) and made them a pretty legit race.
But somehow people have forgotten about that. Breaks my heart, it does.
Tortheldrin Oct 21st 2011 4:10PM
so you didn't see the part where deathwing was flying? That didn't look disney to me.
below Oct 21st 2011 4:51PM
They forgot to mention orange chicken combo with every purchase.

And shouldn't the Panderan food bonuses only last half as long instead of double?
Any word if Panda Express will be signing some marketing deals with Blizzard?
And finally. South Park City Wok. Had to.

The feeling I'm getting now is like when I was a small child who adored all Star Wars related stuff...the movies, the books, the action figures, you name it, I was into it.
And then one sad day I sat down in front of the telly. And saw the Star Wars Holiday Special.

Whether or not they started off as a joke, in current execution, they are played straight. Which is no different than any of the other stuff. Tauren are even more ridiculous, as they don't even follow minotaur myth.
This is a game that includes Paris Hilton, He-Man and Indiana Jones as sight gags.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot
--April 1st is a ways off. This is a joke right, right, guys?--

-"Azeroth's limits have yet to be reveled."
Take that all you negative Nancy's and stick it in those damn globes! :P

You know, for every player that drop WoW because of pandas and Chinese culture, I'm sure there are at least 2 Chinese players chomping at the bits to subscribe.
brain314 Oct 21st 2011 4:48PM
Oops, reply fail.
Meant for that to reply to all the people espousing the idea that their cancellation is the end of WoW because their money is the only money in the world.
Vyxx Oct 21st 2011 5:09PM
Later WoW, it was a good 6 year run but I draw the line at pandas, Kung Fu, and kiddy stuff like that.
brain314 Oct 21st 2011 5:46PM
implying that talking cows is serious business.
Xiahnti Oct 21st 2011 10:28PM
Kung fu is kiddy stuff, eh?
