No I hear ya. Loved Shogun (I have the DVD). I loved the book even more. All 1,500 pages of it. And the miniseries was the best book/film adaptation that I've ever seen.

Anyway, yeah as a huge asian culture geek I will enjoy MoP. Though I reserve the right to make as many jokes as I can find.
