BlizzCon 2011: Pet battles introduced in Pandaria

- The companion pets can attack wild pets and capture them to add to your collection.
- The battles will be turn-based.
- You will be able to customize your pets with names, items and builds.
- There will be Masters that you can fight and gain a Master Ability for your pet.
- As you collect pets, you can form them into teams to take into battle.
- Pets will be account-wide, including levels and customizations.
- Pets will be tradeable. You will be able to put them on the AH or give as gifts. So you can build up to high-level pets and sell them for high prices.

This sounds so awesome to me. I like playing Pokemon games, but I wouldn't want to play a Pokemon mmo because the storyline and world are so stupid. WoW, on the other hand, is awesome, and I already have over 150 pets and nothing to do with most them, so throwing a little Pokemon into my WoW sounds like a great way to make my pet collecting more amusing. I get bored of dungeons and raids pretty easily, but teaching a Personal World Destroyer or Wolpertinger to beat up on squirrels sounds endlessly entertaining.

What? It's real creepy when you actually sit still for a minute and just look at it! Haven't used mine for months, but that grin still finds it's way to my nightmares.

I don't like this one bit. I am hoping however that it turns out to be OK. But as a pet collector myself I have several worries;
after striving towards the 125 pets achievement, how easy will this become?
all pets being trade-able and account bound? what happens when we sell a pet?
will we lose a pet towards the meta achievement? we can catch pets? seems too easy to collect pets. I want in depth detail about how this will work.
Im not hating or trolling im just worried.
pet collecting (or achievements in general) to me is simply a modernised (and more fun) version of collecting stamps.
Yes its useless. but if stamp collecting is understood and socially acceptable why cant people understand pet obsession. Forgive me for being scared of this change. There is just too much unsaid to put my mind at ease.

This is the stupidest effing thing I've heard next to an April Fool's joke being made a playable race. The revenues from the pet store should be good.
Game over.
