When we saw that
Blizzard had registered the
Mists of Pandaria trademark back in August, no one was sure what to think. Was it a sign of the next expansion, a
WoW Trading Card Game pack, or simply Chris Metzen playing an elaborate prank on us all? It turns out that
the first option was the correct one, but
big fat pandas are not the only things we have to look forward to next year. Huge
talent changes, the
WoW version of Pokemon,
scenarios and
challenge modes, a
new class (the monk), and even
a free copy of Diablo 3 (with the new
WoW annual pass) are all bundled into the next expansion. Which one of these interests you the most?

To be honest, I find myself agreeing with everyone in this thread. I've been thinking about quitting WoW for a while, and even though the new stuff for MoP looks very cool, it also just kind of seems like more of the same. A year ago, either Pandaren or monks would have been enough to keep me waiting for the expansion with great anticipation, but now, even when we get both, most of my reactions yesterday were just "Hey, that's pretty cool."
Like others have said, it's not that there's something wrong or bad with WoW. I wouldn't have put so much time into the game if I wasn't having fun. ^_^ But I'm not having the fun I used to have, so it's likely time to leave for a while.

To all you guys, I say it's time you did quit, and I understand your thoughts, even if I don't agree. I've only been playing since about mid Wrath, so there's still tons of things left for me to explore and experience. However, if the game's not fun for you anymore, then that's fair. I'm glad you are all being mature and thoughtful about your opinions, rather than the whining I've seen a lot of recently. It'll be sad to see old timers like yourself go, but there's no point staying if emotionally you've moved on.

Dan, no, talking cows aren't to many of us, because they are based on minotaurs, which were a bit more than "talking cows". A lot of people go "We had talking cows, dogs and spacegoats, so whats the deal?"
Tauren - Minotaurs
Worgen - Werewolves...they dont exactly look like cute talking beagles, do they?
Draenei - The "spacegoat" name is a player-invention. They, to me, are a combination of different things, but I never thought of them as "goat-related". Look up satyrs in any other place than wowwiki

Talking cows aren't silly because they're fearsome minotaurs. Talking pandas are silly because... they're cute little things that are typically adored by little kids. I'm not calling it childish to like them, they're just usually associated with children when they're not associated with China. Talking bulls and space goats... less so.

You're not getting downrated because you expressed your feelings about the expansion rationally and presented them as your own opinion without being insulting. And I thank you for it.
I'm personally thrilled about the expansion, but I can see how some people would find it unappealing. I wish you well where ever you end up.

I voted pandas but every thing there has me excited. I've never been this excited for a WoW expansion before. This looks, to me, like the most interesting content to be added since Burning Crusade.
The race is exciting, the class is a solid one filling all three roles and introducing a whole new style of gameplay, the new talent system is hard to comment on until you're putting it to use but it looks to be a step in the right direction, I'd be lying if I said I weren't already thinking about names for many of my 90-some-odd vanity pets (let alone what sort of abilities they might acquire), and the scenarios and challenge modes sound like a great way to introduce some diversity into both gameplay and gear aesthetics.
Also, that mount, beautiful.

I'm sure I'll the expansion when it comes out...

I think you accidentally a word.
rachel-barbra-berry Oct 22nd 2011 9:50AM
I meant to say I'll probably the expansion.

How about the whole freaking expansion? Seriously, what little life I had left will be gone.
sgt.s.foster Oct 22nd 2011 8:23AM
What is this sparkle pony that you speak of?
DarkWalker Oct 22nd 2011 9:00AM
Perhaps the angel-themed one players who get the yearly pass will receive? :)
shadows Oct 22nd 2011 8:23AM
The fact that the annual pass guarantees me a spot in the Beta! - of course boa mount and free diablo 3 is icing on the cake.
Luckily I have one non-85 toon on my account which will have to bite the dust if I decide to roll a panda.
I'm hoping they will add an ability to add more character slots per realm (keeps fingers crossed) before then - even if it means a one-time real money transaction to unlock those additional character slots....

did anyone notice the little island off the north part of the Pandaria continent?...It said Zandalari Isle...did I miss something?
Rhüarc Oct 22nd 2011 8:35AM
If you check out the Zones preview on the official site, it states that the Zandalari are invading from the northern shore. So it is quite possible we will deal with the Zandalari threat next expansion. Really hoping for that, especially with how much of a looming threat 4.1 made the Zandalari out to be.

Please, God, no more trolls! No more troll dungeons! No more silly Jamaican accents! Please!
p.heliste Oct 22nd 2011 8:23AM
Excited about everything but the pandas. Luckily, the good stuff far outweighs the joke race.
