That's what we get for crying for ponies, moose and pandaren: Sargeras goes unkilled, Argus unconquered. Lore-driven expansions down the drain. Instant gratification! More memes for everyone. Excuse me... I'm just a bit bitter right now. Hoped for something deeper.

Hopefully these lighter aspects of the game will help draw in more players, or keep players that have burnt themselves out constantly saving the world. That way, WoW can keep the doors open long enough for us to finally tackle the other big bads :)

what are you talking about? Really gets tiring hearing people whine that "TEHY BROKE LORE!!!" every time there is a new element to the story. People, it's a STORY!! they are ADDING to the lore. Frankly I agree with Metzen's reasoning, it's been a constant baddie for the last 6 years; Onixia/Nef, Illidian, Arthas/LK, Deathwing. It's time for something new. The Mantis, Hozug and Sha look cool and will give the story something fresh and different. The story is moving forward, Metzen said as much yesterday, think of this as the eye of a hurricane, we went through a bad part of the storm, now we're in a lull before the worst of it is upon us. However there is a way out and thats the Pandaren and the monks...finding the inner peace that Azeroth needs. There seems to be two paths that the story can take from here, one of constant fighting between the races/factions that would make Azeroth weaker or a time to significantly reduce tensions and bring about a relative peace that would allow the world to heal and be ready for when the shit really hits the fan.

Deeper?!A whole bunch of new creatures with all new mysteries to solve, Monks, Panda's with brand new lore to explore?People will never be satisfied. "I expected more". WTF more do you expect? Fickle WoW players are fickle. There's no reason to attempt to please them.

@Matt: "People will never be satisfied. "I expected more". WTF more do you expect? Fickle WoW players are fickle. There's no reason to attempt to please them."What Roguebert said; We have loose plot threads from TBC all over, Naaru were supposedly gathering an army of light, we were teased with tidbits of possibly exploring the demon homeworlds, meeting Alleria and Turalyon, there is still tons of stuff unanswered for, that could've been made the focus of the next expansion. But instead we got pandas. If that is not an attempt at pandering (pun intended) to a certain part of the playerbase (that seems quite pleased), then what is?
