G4's cosplay women of BlizzCon

However this time, G4 didn't wait for the hordes of BlizzCon attendees to descend on Anaheim to get their cosplay gallery together. Instead, they assembled some of most well-known costumed fans in advance of the big convention and shot a gallery showing off their amazing outfits. Women profiled this year include last year's Diablo III monk winner in the costume contest, Christina Sims, Jo-Jo Chen who runs an agency for costumed models and many more.
Check out the full shoot over at G4.

For me personally, I've never really been that into cosplaying. It's always weirded me out.

I see what you did there Mario

After last year's monk, I felt bad for Christina's costume this year paling in comparison to that one. I know she put a lot of effort into it and I just don't think it came out as well as she could have hoped.

"From the intricate to the homemade" --er, what? The vast majority of cosplay outside Japan is homemade, with the exception of the one or two people who show up in cheesy store-bought costumes-in-a-bag from seasonal Halloween shops. Yes, even the intricate ones. That's what makes good cosplay so impressive.
It's not like Japan where they have cosplay stores and full off the rack costumes.

Tip for any fellow women: don't read that comments over at G4. You will be very disappointed in the males of the species posting there.
I know not all guys are like that, but darn, some of those comments are incredibly rude and crude.

I wish they hadn't played up the "sexy" aspect of it so much ("keep you happy for a long time." Really?!). I'm sure that Demon Hunter would just as soon shoot you as look at you.

I particularly like how even "sensible" sites like this one, that has a lot of female writers, still dive in for the the "HEY LOOK! They have tits and hips, covered in minimal fabric! SCH-win!" effect.
Not everyone that checks this site is male and wants a free hard-on, guys. I can't help but think that I'd like to have a look at some of the male crossdressing cosplayers. Rawr.

YEP. I kind of don't really expect a whole lot from G4, as they primarily cater to 'bro-gamers'.
Before people get all bent out of shape (read: hey guys!), I'm not saying all men visiting the site are total douche-bag neanderthals. It's just that alot of G4's content is structured around:
"hey brah, check out these chicks brah, that's so hot brah! *fist bump* HAAAAAAALLLLLLLOOOOOOO *kegstand*"
Although they're slightly less neckbeardy than Kotaku, which is just a den of scum & villainy :3

I especially liked the rogue with the azzinoth blades, and the spirit resser (2nd to the right on the picture) here :)
