Um... why?
Why do we even need a calculator? There's no calculating to be done.
The reason we had talent calculators before was to see what would work and what wouldn't within the complexities of the talent trees. Now there's practically no complexity to them at all. (Not necessarily saying they're not interesting.)

I've got to agree; it feels more like inertia than anything else. Although it is a handy way to display them and link to the talents.
I do, however, suspect that 'talent' isn't exactly the best term to use for this system, given how little it has in common with the current and past talent systems.

So, something interesting I notice about the rogue talents is that there are two "poisons" in there.
If it is true that each of the three talents on a tier are meant to be relatively equal in terms of damage/healing/mobility/etc, I have to wonder about a pair of apparently-damage-free poisons in two separate tiers. Are we going to be seeing a total revamp of how rogue poisons work, such that having a poison that does no damage won't be an enormous dps loss, or are they perhaps going to add damage numbers to those poisons? Because I have to tell you, if they are damage-free, those are *dead talents*

Warlocks. Level 15 tier. Middle talent. WTF is Malefic Grasp? Death Grip for locks? Leap of Faith for locks? How to get a clue?

Probably a new spell for demo. Way I understand it, immolate is going destro only, and I think shadowbolt is going to affliction. Most likely just a filler spell

and whats wrong with the mantra of "I R DPS, I do DPS"? It works why fix it?

I'm not gonna lie, gorefiends grasp for dks sounds awesome. Finally get back healers for managing to kill me with lifegrip. i'll just surround them with bad things.

You'd've been fun to see in a BC heroic. Or a Cataclysm one last December or January.' I have played since the beginning of BC. I hit lvl 58 right before BC dropped. So i have been there done that already. Not hard to stay alive and pull a mob off a healer as a DPS when the tank is busy. trying to round em up as they say. and BC heroics werent hard by any means. I stopped playing WOW may of this year. the guild i was in wasn't going anywhere and i felt in the same rut i was in before cata dropped.
'then why are you commenting on a game you no longer play?'. Because it pains me to see the direction the game is going. It pains me to see them mamking the game into a laughing stock. In-game PokeWOW? are you kidding me? Pandas? are you kidding me? I would rather no new races or classes and have them focus on things like making the vanilla models up to par with the cata ones. I would rather they optimize the engine to make use of dual and quad core systems. I would rather they make Trees 3d instead of having the canopy be a giant octagon thats hollow inside. Aesthetics and more raids.

Why on earth would adults care what other people think about their video game? Is your sense of maturity so fragile you need the approval of others to feel good about yourself? "Oh no, my game now has ferocious pandas, it's not as 'mature' as Call of Duty or some other grimdark game!"
Not only are you not playing the game, you're basically whining about a system that is not tested, nor do we even know about the full extent of how good (or bad, to be fair) the new talent "trees" are. Ever heard of "not judging something before we know what it is"? Yeah, now's the time to practice it.

This isn't more choice. this is less choice.
Level 60.. which talent does a bear tank choose?
Level 75.. which talent does a moonkin/healing druid choose?
Unless all three talents apply to all three roles pretty much equally, this is less choice.

BINGO!!!

I foresee major change to this as the BETA begins. For better or worse. I hope for the better. It shouldn't have even been announced until it was more thought out. This is them spouting stuff off to keep people interested.

Why on earth would adults care what other people think about their video game?' Because adults are the ones who pay for the game maybe? I don't know but last time I checked I have the right to my opinion and the ability to state it. Granted things may not be tested at this point but criticism is what they want. They want people to speak about their opinions, they want them to be vocal. And yes, I would rather they keep the pokemon crap OUT of wow. It has no place being there in the first place. Its a blatant attempt to attract a younger crowd. Someones younger brother who plays pokemon sees them playing WOW with a pokemon style combat with pets you can capture and train. At trainers. And fight the trainers. ITS ****ING POKEMON!!!! Let nintendo do that crap NOT blizzard. The company I grew up supporting is not the same company. They lost something somewhere. Their way was lost.

Well.. this will certainly help my brain when I'm playing the game.
I always went to ElitistJerks.com to try to figure out an optimial spec, so I'm not griping at all about this being done.
The only thing that makes me sort of feel a pang of regret is.. all these talents that's disappearing were so colorful in their names, icons, descriptions.
