This is the first expansion I've really been excited about, and I've been playing since the early alphas. I liked Wrath and Cata, don't get me wrong there, but I didn't squee like I did for MoP.
Now the part of Unknown I'm most excited about: with the Pandaren being cross-faction, does that open the door for the rest of the races? I've always wanted a Tauren but all of my toons are Alliance, and I'm at the character limit. A lot of people will hate that suggestion, but I'm all for it. There are tons of instances in the game where Trolls, Orcs and Tauren have worked with the Druidic and Shamanic Alliance-types, not to mention the Argent Crusade. It could happen.

I'm just bothered by the thought of hanging around the Orgrimmar Auction House and seeing a bunch of elves and humans.
The way Horde race populations are right now, there are *already* twice as many elves as any other race. On the Alliance side, Humans, Night Elves, and Draenei *each* outnumber *all* of the Horde races save Blood Elves.
Extending cross-faction to all races just serves to marginalize the "ugly" races who used to define the Horde.

More accurate stats:
There are almost three times as many Humans as any other Horde race save Blood Elves.
There are almost twice as many Night Elves as any other Horde race save Blood Elves.
Draenei only outnumber Tauren by ~15% and other races by ~35%.

I always thought Draenei numbers were somewhat skewed because of the fact that they were the only Alliance race that could be shamans until 4.0. I see a lot less of them lately on my Alliance-heavy server.
Also, bear in mind most of those Draenei are probably female, considering the hate the male model gets. :\

Whether there is 1 or 1000, has no bearing on how many of race I will have. If I like it, I will play it, if not, I won't. If you choose not to play a specific race/class it's your loss and yours alone. Just like if you play 1 toon and choose not to roll an alt.

Pfft. This is NoYou. Dude told me to drink the chemicals under the sink and *die* because I said Vengeance of the Void wasn't going to be the next expansion. He's not only on a different page, but off in his own little library. They do things differently over there.
Shine on, NoYou crazy diamond...

You're not alone. I honestly love both factions and whilst I play Alliance now my favourite race is and always will be the Taurens. The war between the Horde and Alliance whilst being the core of warcraft and obviously becoming a central point again with MoP, for me is a bit sad. I like both sides of the fence so to speak and would love either a neutral faction whose lore and quest lines focuses on mending the tension and rifts between the races within each faction and repairing the damage done from the previous "big baddies" we've had, and of course helping the different villages etc by killing various baddies that annoy them. Which would mean that the neutral faction could still raid against the Sha and the MoP bad guys.
But if we couldn't have a neutral faction I would quite happily have a Tauren druid in my alliance guild. That would be awesome.
