Why the monkey hate?
You will all bow down before your simian overlords!!
(If for no other reason than they're heavy, and they're on your back.)

With the new 2.0 talent system, what's gonna happen to all the abilities, buffs, resistance we got from the old talent system. Example, when spec in prot where each time you use thunder clap it gave you a stack of extra damage for your shock wave? Will these extra perks to our abilities be added to the abilities them selves?
evoxpisces Oct 25th 2011 5:16PM
Yeah I was wondering this myself, but my thoughts were basically that maybe they implemented them into the Spec when you choose it and you just get those buffs automatically. It's just a possibility, but I'd rather they do that than remove any buffs altogether.

I actually quit listening to this drivel with the ramblings on "stupid" questions. Really? All of blizzcon, and this is what you talk about? Good lord.
(cutaia) Oct 25th 2011 3:44PM
The Q&A questions sucked. One of the questions I saw in the short time I sat around for them was literally, "Why do you let noobs have mounts and stuff they don't deserve." So there's really nothing for them to discuss about day 2 because it was basically all Q&A sessions. But, yes...they at least dared spend a couple minutes mentioning why they weren't going to waste our time going into in-depth coverage.
As for all that other stuff you think they should have been covering? Well, some of it was in the Day 1 Podcast that they made when day 1 announcements were still the relevant hot topics. The rest was in this podcast after you stopped listening. Throw your "good lord"s around all you want. If you couldn't find any discussion about other things in these podcasts, it's because you actively sabotaged your own ability to hear it.

I played during the Foo Fighters concert so the line was non existent. In fact my group was me and the red shirt guy. The pandas are slightly bigger than an Orc as one is a quest giver after you talk to the giant turtle on a hot air balloon and discover the problem is a shipwrecked horde ship that was taken over by face hugging squid. The Fire and Water spirits were amazing while the earth and air weren't special models in game yet. The Verming are amazingly cool looking (Rabbit men wearing diapers). Also there are some amazing moments in the starting area. After you get the water elemental you ride on an yak cart, After you get the first 3 elemental buddies they create a tornado that sends you to the top of the wall to get to the next village, The way to the air elemental is like being in the center of a tornado and timing your way through, and the aforementioned hot air balloon ride. Great little starting area but I wouldn't have learned so much about it unless I was trying to get that awesome Panda poster (which I failed to get in 18 tries.)

I manged to finish the demo zone instead of checking out the contests on Friday night.
*Spoilers?*
*The XP cap was set at level 10. When you dinged 10, you didn't gain any more experience for the rest of the zone.
* When you dinged 10, the demo alerted you that you had unlocked talents and pvp (just like it does now), but clicking on the talents tab would not open it. Specs and talents were effectively locked off.
* If you unlocked the Street Fighter "Huricane Kick" move, you saw all the moves available to the monk in the demo.
* The wood collection quest was for a Pandaren that was demonstrating his strength. He started off with reeds, moved on to wood planks, then to bricks, and ended with a jade statue you find for him that he actually can't break.
* I wasn't reading very much of the quest text (was trying to get as many quests done as possible for chances at the poster I didn't get either), but it didn't look like a Horde ship that had crashed in the zone. You fly over a crashed Alliance airship and eventually have to rescue injured Human soldiers from inside. The rescue quest was a little buggy, but completable if you worked at it.
* You did get to see a large number of orc bodies scattered around a different area, where you needed to collect an item for a different quest.
* One of the last quests of the zone is going to end with a cinematic bang, that wasn't in except for text describing what was going to happen.

Cool new diablo piece! Ehhhh! Forget about it!
Fossless Oct 25th 2011 2:42PM
Praise Elune, McCurley is annoying
Nina Katarina Oct 25th 2011 2:57PM
That's a pretty useless comment. What specifically is annoying and how would you change it so that it wasn't annoying? Or are you just whining with nothing to back up bare trollery?
Fossless Oct 25th 2011 3:29PM
You taking the time to reply to my ''useless'' comment is much more embarrassing than my initial post. But ill bite... I usually love McCurley, but there are times where he rants about topics that ended 10 ago. Also, long drawn out pauses while thinking to emphasize your meaning is not dramatic, its annoying.
I hope that answered your condescending reply...this where I would insert a picture with a baby alligator with a rattle, saying your argument is invalid
(cutaia) Oct 25th 2011 3:45PM
"You taking the time to reply to my ''useless'' comment is much more embarrassing than my initial post."
Not even remotely.
Fossless Oct 25th 2011 3:56PM
Im sorry but please refer to your own nerd rage above. Thank you
Tom Oct 25th 2011 4:39PM
C'mon guys, don't feed the troll.
kevin.luang Oct 25th 2011 5:53PM
If you're out to troll please make sure you know what you are doing.
This is just sad.

One thing I would Change about the Blizzard Q&As..... Shout Outs, I hate them and they steal time from better and more intelligent questions that could be asked.
Jyotai Oct 25th 2011 5:39PM
Word.
BTW, just want to give a shout out all my guildies over on...
:D
Yeah, anytime someone started in a shoutout, if I'd been on the panel I would have said "Next!"
Each Q&A lost about 10 minutes total to that drivel. And people who came up and introduced themselves as "High, I'm Johnny Awesome from Hyjal, level 85 blood elf paladin tank."
- No you're not, your Jeff from Bakersfield... or you're a guy with a Q, so ask it.
Baek Oct 25th 2011 3:58PM
About the new character models, I think they are updating the models for a few reasons. The fact that all but the new Cataclysm races (Worgen and Goblins) can be Monks lends a lot to my point of view. The animations are going to be very complex for Monk combat. From rolling, jump kicking, the spinning kick attack and all of that are too complex for the amount of bones in the old world (meaning TBC and earlier) races wire frames. This is also why I think Worgen and Goblins (aside from lore possibly) can't be Monks. They are brand new models and they don't want to re-tool them just for the new monk animations. So I think they are going to include new character models in 5.0 just because they are allowing all the races but Worgen and Goblins to be Monks.
TheTraveler12 Oct 25th 2011 4:21PM
i cant honestly believe these guys are excited about a wannabe pokemon clone.
laurence.hill33 Oct 25th 2011 4:59PM
I think they said the Monk would likely have its heals powered by damage it did the fact its standing in the melee would indicate that was the most likely scenario.
