Breakfast Topic: Who should play your character in the WoW movie?

As we all know, there's the distinct possibility of a World of Warcraft movie some time in the (relatively) near future. Some people are skeptical, some optimistic. Hopefully, it will be an epic tale, full of the flavor and excitement we all feel every time we log in to Azeroth, not a rehashing of stories we've known for ages or a bastardization of the hobby we all enjoy so much. Whether it focuses on Horde or Alliance, there will need to be characters of various shapes and sizes, representing the varied peoples of the World of Warcraft. Gnomes, Humans, Trolls and Tauren, the movie presents the opportunity to show the fantasy genre on a scope unseen thus far.
So who would you cast to play your character? Who brings the smarmy wit of the wily rogue, the cold confidence of the devious warlock or the young but arrogant sneer of the proud paladin on your character selection screen?
Since I get first dibs, as the author of this, I'm going to go ahead and stake my claim. My Human protection warrior would be played by Deborah Ann Woll from True Blood. She brings just the right mix of strength, sexiness, and wide-eyed bewilderment to play my common Stormwind girl-gone-heroine.

Aaron Eckhart as a paladin would be great! He just has that shiny good guy look to him. I also loved your choice of Eliza Dushku as a rogue.

I comepletely agree with Deborah Ann Woll, not only is she a great actress, she's shown the ability to portray a character who has to deal with her newfound powers convincingly.
Also I've obsessed with her ever since I saw her in True Blood. (I have a thing for redheads)
Also, Bryan Cranston (Walter in Breaking Bad, Hal in Malcolm in the Middle) as anything really. Truly a phenomenal actor, he can display such a huge range of emotions and can switch between them with the flip of a button.
As for my Tauren DK? Eh... I have no idea. :|

I really wanted to use a picture of Deborah Ann Woll in her Red Riding Hood costume from the end of this season, but I wasn't sure on the legality of getting a screencapture for it.... I'm likewise transfixed by her (obviously) and you can't go wrong with a gorgeous redhead.
Aro Oct 27th 2011 8:59AM
For my Belf Warlock, I can think of no one better to play her than Tricia Helfer.
Maymer Oct 27th 2011 9:00AM
Nathan Fillion as my warrior...hell, just get ol' Captain Reynolds back in as anybody, I don't care. It's Nathan-Effing-Fillion.

Ha! Great post for the cinephiles.. I believe someone's already bagged Alan Rickman.. *shakes fist* For my Forsaken hunter a faux Romanian for Stoker Gary Oldman please. :) Praps a younger version could be played by Michael Sheen (we share welsh lineage) :)
My dwarven alt a perma wine basted Gérard Depardieu for sure!...If we're sticking with the in game celt vibe however I'll shotgun James Nesbitt! He so should have been Dr Who..Damn you Peter Jackson!!!
taharistheforsaken Oct 27th 2011 9:11AM
My Forsaken Mage has to be played by Val Kilmer. a sickly looking bad ass (ala Doc Holiday)
Al Oct 27th 2011 9:11AM
Since my characters tend to be back-of-the-crowd, "hey, it's that guy" when walking through the throngs in cities..
I'd say Ted Raimi for my Human Paladin, Louis Gossett Jr. to voice my Orc Hunter.
taharistheforsaken Oct 27th 2011 9:14AM
BTW all the gnomes should be played by Peter Dinkagle cause his Tyrion Lannistar is so boss.
sardai Oct 27th 2011 9:15AM
For my shaman; in her current female Draenei form, Emma Watson
ravyncat Oct 27th 2011 9:17AM
Since there are no human actors who even vaguely resemble a Draenei, I am going to nominate myself. Such a movie will likely be CG anyway and no one can play my DK as well as me. I'd prefer to play the parts of all my alts too.
I do not play humans. All my characters are Draenei or Gnomes with a Nelf kitty thrown in for fun. (She is always a kitty unless she is flying. I RP her as more of a cat than a Night Elf.)
So all CG all the time!
This is partly because I do not watch TV or movies and I really don't have a clue who any actors are. >.>;;
But also because I RP all my characters...and they are people not stars. I figure I can act like a person all right. :)
