Patch 4.3 PTR: Valor point gear gallery

If you've been wondering what the new patch 4.3 PTR update had in store for you, well, wonder no more. It had gear in store for you. Yes, there are titles and mounts as well, and that's all very nice. But if you, like me, have a black, shriveled gemstone for a heart that screams out its demoniacal lust for more and more and more gear, well, patch 4.3 has you covered.
What follows is a cavalcade of screenshots from the valor point vendors that are standing there right now on the patch 4.3 PTR, just waiting for you to come buy their wares. Which you can't do yet because they just reset valor points on the PTR ... but you know what I mean. Thrill to hats, relics, wands, boots, belts, chestpieces and other items. There are more items than I could get screenshots of, to be honest, so enjoy these 60 or so screenshots and let them whet your appetite for more.
Brace yourselves for what could be some of most exciting updates to the game recently with patch 4.3. Review the official patch notes, and then dig into what's ahead: new item storage options, cross-realm raiding, cosmetic armor skinning and your chance to battle the mighty Deathwing -- from astride his back!

You do realize that all the VP you save up will be converted to JP, right...?
Heartbreaker109 Oct 27th 2011 1:18PM
Valor resets to 0 when 4.3 hits.

So...when 4.3 goes live...am I going to...hmmm....lose VP? Is that right? Maybe I should ask in tomorrow's Queue. (JK, DON'T KILL ME)

It's the same conversion that will be happening every tier from now on, think of it this way:
* All JP & VP that currently exists in 4.2 is being combined into JP when 4.3 hits. *
Your JP & VP will be combined into JP, and everything that's currently able to be purchased with VP will be purchasable with JP instead.
In addition, there will be new, better VP items available. You'll start out with 0 VP, since it was just merged with JP. You didn't "lose" anything, though, it's all just merged into JP.
Let's say right now, you're at 2130 VP and 0 JP, 1 random heroic away from purchasing your T12 chest. Then 4.3 hits, and you have 0 valor and 2130 JP. BUT, this is ok, because that T12 you were salivating over is now purchaseable with JP, so it's actually better - you're a few bosses away, rather than a random heroic.
What this process DOESN'T allow you to do is grind out a bunch of Valor now, and use it to instantly buy a T13 valor piece when 4.3 drops. VP we get today is inferor to the VP we'll be getting once 4.3 drops. This is by design, to don't want people to feel like they're a step behind because they didn't grind out stuff before the patch.

u might wanna cap your JP and HP though, any VP and CP that are converted down beyond the cap turn into gold (at least, that happened last time and I got 2k from Valor and Conquest Points together) a nice bonus :)

Except Valor Bracers still sell pretty nicely, and it's probably smarter to just sell the bracers instead of waiting for the cash-in >.>
Obviously it wont' apply to Conquest.

@trefpoid:
Plus, if you're not a PVPer and have no use for Honor, cap it anyway. After the patch you can burn off your 4000 JP on the former-Valor gear, then immediately buy back about 3000 JP with your Honor and get another 378 piece. Get an extra piece of gear without setting foot in a single dungeon/raid post-patch ;)

Ooh, finally. Valor helms. My paladin can finally replace his 359 helm.
Gotta love RNG.
facepalmer2 Oct 27th 2011 3:22PM
I just asked someone on the PTR if it was intentional or was going to change and I got a response saying the the Helm were going to change and not be able to be purchased with valor alone. Although It would be nice if it was available for valor. Guess we will just have to wait and see.
Leviathon Oct 27th 2011 3:43PM
And how exactly would someone on the PTR know this? Or did this someone say they 'hard' from someone/
Blackdemon Oct 28th 2011 7:42AM
Mine's still on a 346 helm (with 378 in almost every other slot). I refuse to do the trolls for a 353 upgrade and been insanely unlucky on drops and rolls in raids. A non-token helm would be very much appreciated.
Saeadame Oct 27th 2011 1:15PM
Hm... BoE Boots AND BoE Wrists? Could change, I suppose, but it's still interesting.
A.Glover Oct 27th 2011 3:42PM
Boots were BoE at Cata launch and wrists are BoE right now.....
(cutaia) Oct 27th 2011 1:38PM
Keep in mind that there's a valor option for basically every slot, instead of just specific slots. So, I suppose it's prudent to give more than 1 BoE option for folks who want to limit the amount of valor grinding they have to do.

Looking forward to this. Emblem gear felt more varied in Wrath and, combined with the larger loot tables of dual lockouts, general gave us far more gearing options rather than the Cata trend of "Your bracer options are the ones off this boss and . . . That's it".
It will also make gearing up non-raiding alts so much nicer rather than having helm/shoulder items that aren't 2-1/2 tiers behind everything else.
Hih Oct 27th 2011 8:07PM
Ya, between Wrath's difference between 10 and 25 and more bosses in general, the loot tables in Cata are TINY by comparison.
Wrath's Second tier, Ulduar, had *14* bosses. With bosses having different loot on 10 and 25 (though 10 did have a lower ilevel), making for 28 "different" bosses on which to hold the gear of your dreams.
By comparison, Cata's second tier, Firelands, has *7* bosses. Half that of Ulduar! Worse, 10 and 25 share loot, so the loot table ended up getting quartered. It's not quite as bad between the end tiers, ICC and Deathwing's raid, being 12 (24) vs 8, but not mentioned there is the LOSS OF AN ENTIRE TIER INBETWEEN!
Wrath had 4 tiers of raiding versus Cata's 3.
So ya, if it feels like there less variety of loot in Cata compared to Wrath, that's because it's completely 100% true.
xvkarbear Oct 27th 2011 1:20PM
Woot! I was hoping they would be using the tier 13 models. (I assumed they would be, but you never know!)
xvkarbear Oct 27th 2011 1:23PM
Oh no, wait.. are those screen shots of the armor just shots of the token pieces? :(
Matthew Rossi Oct 27th 2011 1:36PM
Those are ss's of the token pieces, but they ARE using versions of the tier 13 models for the offset pieces. Helms look like tier, that's why I included an SS of the agi leather helm. I can only see the warrior tier pieces.
