I didn't mind the old talent system, although the current one is an upgrade. I was looking forward to having more points to go deeper into offspec talents.The proposed new system's initial screenshot -- only 6 choices over 90 levels -- seems underwhelming. Once every 15 levels, I'll get to choose A, B, or C? Much less interesting.

But with the ability to treat them like glyphs. So if you are in a fight that requires something else, it can be an option to swap. And none of them should strictly "necessary" and can be picked for fun as well (though some are definitely better for pvp or raids, given this early look). They actually feel like unique talents now, rather than a 2% boost in whatever that I have to take to be viable in a group.I think having all the required abilities being gained as you level will be more than enough to learn (and I hope they slim down the spellbook a bit again). The extra talents will be helpful and kinda like a treat every few levels.My Hunter's only lvl 62, but the majority of leveling is behind her; probably 85 by MoP, and then it's just a 5 level wait until the final talent point anyway, with no real worries about respeccing every. single. patch. to meet the latest cookie-cutter expectation or labeled a moron for having fun.I feel that each expac with the "new levels! new talents!" before I can actually -play-, I spend a lot of time on my max level characters figuring out how to spec my 30-odd points before anyone's really had a chance to figure things out, while waiting for the 1-2 more I may get as we level to the new cap, only 5 levels away for my mains (2-4 points and 10 levels in previous expacs). It's fun-ish as I level a new alt to select points as I go, but it's not crucial or the only thing I look forward to as I level to prove I'm getting stronger or know more about the spec and class.
I don't know. You're telling me that while you're leveling you like puting talents into abilities like +1% crit or +1% hit that do barely anything? If you do that's fine but I know I find that underwhelming. And as it is now you don't gain any cool abilities thru talents but every 10-15 levels. And now the ones will be for personal change so you actually have a choice that wont hinder you performance. I am very excited for the change.

I actually like this change a lot. It's doing away with what I would consider game mechanics talents to something much closer to play style mechanics. As someone who has played a hunter almost exclusively for 3.5 years, this will breathe a bit of new life into something that is getting a bit stale for me at this point.
