Now that we're losing our melee slot, I'll be curious to see how Blizzard handles items like fishing poles, brewfest mugs, etc. since those currently go in the melee slot.Hopefully they have a plan for this :)

You're not losing your "melee slot" per se. It's just that you'll equip your gun into the current melee slot, and the ranged slot is going away.This is kind of why I hope they retain the ability to equip melee weapons, though (see comment above). There shouldn't be any benefit to doing so, but there's a lot of odd/fun stuff that this new restriction will prevent Hunters from equipping. I don't think fishing poles will be excluded, however.
