Amy Millan is great solo, but I love her work with Stars even more. This is from their album Set Yourself on Fire.
NO NAME asked:
Is there any previews of the female pandas yet?
No, and don't expect one for a long time. What you can do between then and now is pray that they fare better than female Worgen did.
Anuillae asked:
I was wondering; why is the Annual Pass available for children? It claims to be a legally binding contract, but, where I live at least, any person under the age of 18 cannot be bound by a contract. And yet I had no trouble signing up for it. Is this an oversight, or intentional, or is my Annual Pass void even though it claims to have succeeded?
I believe, and I could be wrong, that you're not actually able to create an account if you're a minor. If you have an account, it's implied that you're of legal age to sign a contract.
Gossamer asked:
When did Naga start wearing shirts and bracers? I seem to remember them being, well, more naked.
Naga got a nice cosmetic makeover in Cataclysm.
all8280bcc asked:
Why no panda dk option? Has there been an explanation as to why?
How many Pandaren did you see running around defending Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms from the Scourge?
Totugendu asked:
for the WoW annual pass in the FAQ it says "You'll be able to download and play Diablo III as soon as it's available and once you complete the one-year term it's yours to keep, even if you cancel your subscription." In the extended FAQ it states "Q -When will I receive Diablo III?
A-Diablo III will be available to download via your Battle.net account when the game is released.
which is it I am so confused
You'll be able to download Diablo 3 as soon as it's available, and after your one-year contract is up, D3 is yours to keep even if you cancel your subscription after that point.
Talarian asked:
Question: I didn't start playing WoW until the beginning of the Wrath expansion. Prior to that, was Dalaran actually - physically - in the Alterac Mountains, where the crater currently is? I understand that it was never accessible as a city you could walk into, but did it literally sit there, at least in a visual sense, under that protective dome?
No, there was bare dirt under the protective shield, but any normal player would have no idea that was the case.

I'm a bit confued on the term auto-attack. Do all classes have it as of pre-MoP? Do Mages have it? If monks do not have it, does that mean that cannot even swing a weapon in melee for white damage?
Nipah Oct 29th 2011 12:09PM
Every class has a melee auto attack. Mages/Priests can auto-shoot with their wands, and Hunters can auto-shoot with their ranged weapons.
With the changes to ranged weapon slots, I'm wondering if they'll just roll the auto wand into auto attack and call it a day.
Verine Oct 29th 2011 12:10PM
Hunters have auto shot and melee classes have auto attack. the closest thing mages, priests and locks have is shoot (from wands).
Scott Oct 29th 2011 12:13PM
If you right-click on an enemy unit, you will auto attack - if you're in melee range, you'll hit/strike with whatever weapon you have equipped, if you're at range, you'll use your wand or bow/gun. Auto-attacks also fill in any gaps in your cast spells.
Most players don't use auto-attack, but you could, for example, use a Paladin to walk up and start auto-hitting a mob and simply wait for it to die. It may take a while though, since auto-attacks don't do much damage.
Pandaren won't do this. Right-clicking will simply engage the enemy, you won't actually do any damage if you don't use an ability/spell.

all classes have it but its not optimal to use except
for melee classes plus hunters
as for monks no they wont
Ellemir Oct 29th 2011 12:16PM
Yeah, my mage can auto-attack with her weapon. If I'm in melee range of a mob I'm fighting, and I've right-clicked it, any time I pause between casts, I smack them with my staff.
xvkarbear Oct 29th 2011 12:17PM
Any class currently can walk up to a mob and right click them. Their character will start wailing on the mob with their weapon.
Joshuasiclest Oct 29th 2011 12:17PM
hunters and mages priests etc etc all have auto attacks as well, every class has it monks just wont.
Imnick Oct 29th 2011 12:25PM
Shoot and Auto-Shoot IIRC are actually different spells, Auto-Shoot being the one Hunters have
The only main difference is that a mage, priest or warlock won't automatically pull out their wand and fire away if you right click a mob at range, or after they finish a spell while a hunter will auto-shoot anything that it is in combat with, targeting and in range of.
Luotian Oct 29th 2011 12:26PM
Can't mages and such auto-attack with their staves in melee range as well? I distinctly remember letting my mage just hit something to finish it off when it was faster than casting a spell.
Drakkenfyre Oct 29th 2011 12:34PM
Yes, they can. And that was why I was so disappointed when they reduced the DPS of all staves in the game.
I liked getting a nice upgrade, and as a nice bonus it had a much higher DPS. Because sometimes when an enemy is almost dead, a smack with the staff finished them off quicker than casting another spell.
I mean, I guess the reason they reduced the DPS was so classes which could equip them (such as Druids) wouldn't have the bonus rolled into their melee attacks? It sucked going from a 200-300 damage (around level 74ish) to 60-70.
Morcego Oct 29th 2011 12:37PM
Autoattacks are actually something very interesting. Not only it is available to all classes right now (white swings/ white attacks), but it a history of being exploited but some casters. Back on wrath, resto druid would autoattack to get extra Omen of Clarity procs Laldo on BC). Some caster trinkets could be triggered that way.
Even now, they are high damage for some classes. They are aprox 20% of a kitty druid damage. And alot of druid will complain about that (I love it), and it is their main source of OoC procs (doesnt work for resto anymore).
The problem with monks not having autoattacks is the potential impact it will have for players with higher latency. As someone who raids endgame with 200ms, this is not a happy prospect for me.

to clarify and add to what everyone's been saying: melee autoattack exists on every character, but the swing timer is reset any time you cast a spell that has a cast timer. Especially since spellpower weapons have reduced damage, auto-attack will have a negligible effect on caster DPS unless you are in the extremely odd situation of following an enemy in melee range but only using instants (maybe PvPing a hunter?)
However this mechanic is especially important to holy Paladins, as they have a chance to regain mana on a successful melee swing when using SoI. On a boss with a huge hitbox, say Raggy, you can regain a decent chunk of mana if you sit there melee-ing the boss and only using your instants (judge, WoG, LoD, HS, HR).
Boobah Oct 29th 2011 1:59PM
Heck, once upon a time even instant casts reset your swing timer; they fixed that for paladins and shamans during BC, IIRC. And they were fixing it on a spell-by-spell basis at the time, too, because even during the Wrath beta using a full stack of maelstrom to instant-cast spells that weren't normally instant reset your swing timer.
This also means that a cherry tapping with your staff's auto attacks is usually slower than scorching or shadow bolting one more time.

The amount of comments about Auto Attacks is shocking to me.

auto-comment is enabled
zakrain Oct 30th 2011 12:25AM
its also a main mechanic for enh shamans, we proc mw and windfury wep off our auto atks, windfury is even considerd white dmg for us. (note they might of changed this, i remmy during bc days where i had windfurry proc off other windfurrys. i die b/c of it too, specialy when all hits were crt >_

Do you think Blizzard are taking a risk making an expansion based around pandaren when the subs are declining and a potential major competitor is on the horizon? I mean, most players had probably never heard of them till the monk pet, and many of those that did assumed they were just a developer joke. Now we have two years of them.
Would a Legion-centric expansion have been a safer bet in the circumstances?
razion Oct 29th 2011 12:10PM
Pandaria was created to be *fun*. And, this may be shocking, but fun sells particularly well in video-games. Plus, any press is good press. Even if a few people don't like MoP, you'll be darn certain they've heard about it and have an opinion about it and THAT is good marketing.
Nipah Oct 29th 2011 12:11PM
The amount of people who are pro-Panda seems to greatly outweigh the amount of people who are anti-Panda.
Also, the amount of anti-Panda people who would potentially quit over their inclusion is so small as to be non-existent, as most people aren't going to quit a game they enjoy over something so silly (instead, its more of a "straw that broke the camels back" situation for the ones who do leave).
I am personally not a fan of the Pandaren, but if they bring a Monk class with them, I'll welcome them with open arms.
