Breakfast Topic: What item would you design for WoW?

You have to wonder what a fun job it must be to be the person in charge of creating items in WoW. I mean, for example, you have the new engineering item Flintlocke's Woodchucker as a great example of this. Basically, it's an addon to any bow or gun that shoots "rabid critters" at the target.
I can just imagine the meetings where this was pitched. Comments like "Well, what would it be like to add in a mechanism that would launch rabid animals on top of normal bullets?" must have gotten a laugh around the conference table, but you know coders had fun with programming it. And the fun for this item went all the way to the patch notes, where they stated DHETA had protested, so now the Woodchucker only launches chickens. I was a bit disappointed when they changed that piece. I would have loved to shoot rabid squirrels at my targets, or maybe killer bunnies!
What would you create if you had the ability? Would you make a new gun, mace, or axe to run into battle with? Or would you go with something a bit more cosmetic or lighthearted? What are some of the mechanics you would use? What kind of flavor text would you use?

Firstly, greatest scope ever, it should just be offered leveld up with each expansion now. I laugh everytime i hear that squeak.
I would design some class specific mounts for people to pursue/grind for.
Think a little flavor of how you chase after a legendary, though much tamer. Something fun to have to show off your pride in your class.
Thinking flying mounts.

Dwarven siege tanks are under used .. would give warriors one of those.

yeah see that's the thing there are some tricky classes. Most of my thoughts of it have been the classes that something immediately comes to mind.
Probably some kind of traditional battle mount, something you'd expect to see a warrior riding at a charge.
May post it on the forums soon hmm

I'd love to see more class, race or even profession-based mounts introduced.
I'm really hoping that transmogrification lets Blizzard introduce some faction-specific armors, like the Ironforge and Stormwind Guards.

Make Heroic Leap into a travel form, sort of like the Super Jumping travel power in City of Heroes.

Yup the profession mounts was another thought I'd had and am in favor of. There are tricky ones in there of course (leatherworking, blacksmithing) but over all I love the idea.
If you ask me Enchanting makes a great deal of sense (I mean if tailoring does, enchanting does), Jewelcrafting even, Alchemy has one now.
At the minimum I think we could use some more faction based flight mounts. Think of it as faction mounts 2.0
So far as the classes go my favorites had been the ideas of paladin flight mount, Warlock, Mage, and for Shamans I liked the idea of them actually perhaps taking on elemental forms to travel as their class mount.

I'd create a melee DPS two hander that applies a dot that strikes again two or three times after the initial hit, not really nature or fire damage etc, sort of like getting a few extra swings in for the price of one. [Brand of Returning Strike] or something like that lol.

I had a http://www.wowhead.com/item=17705#see-also for my rogue back in vanilla WoW. You can still get it as an heirloom these days. There are a couple other weapons that offer extra swing procs too, I think.

Building on both of your ideas, I say Warriors should get an armor plated rhino, not like that whooly TCG nonsense, but a decked out rhino version like the pally mounts. [Reigns of the Pissed Off Battle Rhino], lol.

And lo, I would command the artists and programmers, "craft for me a Tauren totem so that I may wieldeth its fury and majesty in game and pay homage to Cairne's righteousness". There would be much wailing and gnashing of teeth from the Alliance as I strode forth in BGs across Azeroth, driving my enemies before me with my stylized tree trunk of badassery. If bored, I could Gnomes into small, pancake shaped objects to be tossed back and forth between two players as a game. I would call the game, "Frisbee". My Horde brethren would rejoice, and it would be good. So it was written, so shall it be done!

Very true, there really should be more "racial" weapons in the game, especially Tauren totems. Those things are are awesome.

in the vein of racial weapons, I'm all for tauren totems, and elf glaives, but let's not stop there! Let trolls carry an offhand spear wherever they go, with a chance of throwing it on a successful cast or attack. Let dwarfs carry a flintlock with simmilar results. The possibilities are endless!
