I guess the very nature of a blog is going to be negative. I had hoped this week's collection would not be as cynical.
All the hate and negativity in the WOW community is really getting old.

While some blogs are certainly places for players to spout off and rant about what they don't like about WoW without the censoring of the official forums, the blogs featured in today's Daily Quest are not negative overall.
Even when negative reactions come up, they are well-written, thought out, and balanced with positive thoughts and hopes. They are certainly not cynical, which I too am getting tired of.

I didn't see any of these three posts (mine included) as negative; the common theme seems to have been that introducing Pandaren into WoW does not mean slapstick silliness and Kung-Fu Panda must follow. There is the potential for serious depth in the setting. I think conversations articulating that depth are important right now, and that these are positive posts.
For me, it was a chance to revisit Lone Wolf and Cub, and AD&D's Oriental Adventures, and 1987, and relate them to MoP. A lot of WoW players didn't read LW&C, or play OA, so hopefully it shed some light on the upcoming expansion.
Serious doesn't equal negative.

Anne, as always, thank you for the link. I'm glad you liked the post.

Like Cynwise, I didn't consider my post to be a criticism of Mists of Pandaria, overall. I'm excited for new content in WoW, as I always will be; AND I was surprised by the announcement of this expansion. I'm not sure why the two need be mutually exclusive.
Thanks for the link, Anne. I really appreciate it.

I didn't really think any of the three were negative or cynical. Introspective, yes. Thoughtful, yes. Unjustified rage? Nope - just points to think about. I like finding posts that have points to think about, whether I agree with them or not.
What I don't like, and what I try not to do, is posting things that are entirely one-sided or just fluff with no substance. All three of the posts linked had substance and stuff to consider, even if they weren't sunshine and roses about the new expansion -- and even if I don't necessarily agree with the points presented myself, they were still interesting and worth the read.

There really have been some awesomely well-thought-out comments on MoP around the blogosphere. It was a good week to be a blog reader.
If you're still looking for even more panda commentary, we rounded up some more awesome blog posts over here:
