I wonder how many guilds are going to be moving and if there will be any drama from this.
Jyotai Nov 1st 2011 4:02PM
Of course there will.
Mine is moving. Soon as the alt I left behind with it when I transferred out has had her 7 days of ownership (tonight or tomorrow).
But there won't be drama there as even on the old server, it was just about just me. 2 of the other 3 people who's accounts are active have already left, I'll send the last one half the remaining guild bank gold when I shut off the lights. Oddly, he's a new recruit too, random join when I was offline so I've never met the person...
But more active guilds yeah - you'll see drama in those.
I'm just waiting for the 'OMFG' post when the first 800+ member level 25 guild sneaks away to another server.
- If your GM moved without telling you, would you pay to follow, knowing you'd face maybe 85.7% odds of getting insta-booted the moment you showed up on the new server?
If -I- could have gotten any of my old guildies to come with, I would have - but we've been mortally wounded since a drama-fest during Ulduar. Hint: if you have two highly charismatic alpha males in your guild, boot one or both of them early... especially if neither is you. Otherwise you'll soon end up with 3 guilds, only one of which is the one you've been running - and it'll probably happen on the night you're not logged in and able to keep them from fighting with each other over 'e-peenery sizes'. O.o

What are guild services? I don't check WoW news very much so it would have been nice to have a little journalism going on.
Noyou Oct 31st 2011 10:46PM
They did a significant write up initially when the news broke. This is a follow up to this last few updates on the Guild services. I would not expect a rehash of the original articles every time they update news on a subject. If you were that interested, you could have googled or checked the blizzard page.

Basically, guilds are now treated as people. They can transfer servers, factions, and change their name. This is important so that people retain guild rep when transferring and the guild retains its level and achievements.
Noyou Oct 31st 2011 10:46PM
Awesome. Now when people ask, "Where should I level?" We can direct them to their maps.
Shinae Nov 1st 2011 10:50AM
I'm already boggled that people ask that. Where to level is answered by checking the Hero's Call Board for a breadcrumb quest.

Too bad there isn't some kind of way of connecting to this information. Maybe some kind of connection based on interaction with the relevant sentence in the article. It'd be like this incredible... mega... connection. A megaconnection. Yeah, that works.
Or a fucking hyperlink you smarmy dick.

Every Tuesday they have a rundown of every Wow insider article. You might wanna check that out to recap the weeks activity.

In short, guild leaders can now faction change/realm transfer/rename their guild now.

So, I figure this is as good a place as any to ask.
I've noticed a lot of the columnists and the class/spec articles are covering the MoP talents from each spec's perspective.
Why?
There's no way that the talents as they are currently are going to go to live. They're going to go through balancing. Some will be moved, others deleted, new ones added. It seems silly to be spending as much time as is currently being given to them. They're a cool idea, yes, but MoP's not even in beta yet. For all we know, Blizzard will end up changing the 6 tier model for something else they think is cooler and works better.
Noyou Nov 1st 2011 12:59AM
Prolly the same reason you choose this article to whine: It's current. Right now it's a major topic of discussion. Right now- there is a build to discuss for each class. With every update to it, look forward to updated versions. Just like they did for every other prospective class change in every other expansion.
gewalt Nov 1st 2011 1:10AM
why? pageviews for one, and for two, old habits die hard.
Shinae Nov 1st 2011 10:59AM
True, the new talent system may change drastically before release, or it might change only a little. Of course things change; they always do.
In any case, it's information that we've been given, and it makes sense for the writers to theorize about it than to completely ignore it. It'd be pretty weird if that news from Blizzcon wasn't discussed.
Jyotai Nov 1st 2011 4:06PM
Mostly because we're all over Cata already.
4.3 hasn't even hit yet, and the playerbase is already bored of farming it...
-/sigh
Cata's come to an end for the fans, and we're all just waiting for the clock to run out... either in excitement over mists, or dread. Whether you want Mists or wish it was not happening - we all just kinda want it to 'get done with' so we can move forward.
There's just nothing left to say about Cata...
Chances are once 4.3 hits and we can try out LF-raid and Transmog, that will change a little and give us some excitement... but at the moment it feels 'so yesterday, like disco and leisure suits'.

I want to start a campaign and I hope the wonderful people behind Wowinsider get behind me as well. Let's bring this to the attention of Blizzard and let them know that we want the male Pandaren dance to be Thom Yorke's Lotus Flower. I won't stop until this become a reality. Thank you.
Drakkenfyre Nov 1st 2011 2:02AM
Good luck on that. They seem to always pick whatever pop dance is going on at the time of development.
Swallowcraft Nov 1st 2011 2:51AM
And no other dance suits a Pandaren more than the Lotus Flower dance because it embodies both the elegance and silliness aspect.
Noyou Nov 1st 2011 3:37AM
Uh, not really. Just some of them. I don't think they will defile the pandaren with pop culture dances. I would be surprised if they both were not traditional Chinese dances. Maybe with some silly mixed in. Dwarf, Draenei, and Forsaken had very little to do with current pop culture.
Macarena
Michael Jackson
Saturday night Fever
Tai-Bo
Were taken from pop culture that was "current" well before Blizzard came out with WoW.
icepyro Nov 1st 2011 3:51AM
First of all, thanks for that. I apparently am slacking in my Radiohead collection. Second of all, this would be hilarious.
Then again, my vote is on the cabbage patch.
Although, as said, knowing Blizz it will be shuffling ala LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem
