A friend of mine was just commenting on how when we first played WoW we didn't have any fancy-pants in-game quest helpers. When the Quest giver told you to bring him the Gem Of Something, he told you it was "just south west of a big rock". And you had to go SW of a big rock to find it. No, 'X' to mark the spot. And you never really knew juts how far SW you had to go.And if you didn't familiarize yourself with maps, ANYTHING could be right around the corner from a tribe of ogres to a friendly campsite of allies.Things were harder, and also much more frustrating. But, in a lot of way, more satisfying, too.
