Around Azeroth: No passion for fashion
Many players have their transmogrification outfits squirreled away for 4.3, but Revynn of Insomniac on Area 52 has created an outfit that shows exactly why we need transmogrification. With her purple shoulders, black and orange shirt, red pants and green boots, she looks like she's trying to blend in with a herd of wild Skittles. And don't even get me started on that belt. That whole area looks like it's trying to be a visual representation of the cardiovascular system -- and if that were true, that belt would be a massive aortic aneurysm that's going to burst at any moment.

On the other hand, I've been leveling before and ended up with:
-Teal cloak
-Purple helm
-Green chest armor
-Orange pants
It's not much better mixing/matching the T11/T12 sets, though. The paladin T11 (all teal) doesn't mesh very well with the the red and brown of T12.

Players these days don't know they're born...Compared to Outland Gear, that's the pinnacle of taste and elegance.

The Blood Elf in the pic is clearly wearing plate. Yet, the linked Revynn on Area-42 is a squishie Warlock. Did I miss something?

Go down the block 10 areas, you might find the right toon.
(this was a joke)

In my defense, I never claimed to be the person in the pic.

Man, that reminds me of my warrior's armor back in TBC. It looked like I shopped at Ronald McDonald's yard sale.

That's what my warrior looks like now. >.<
(He's level 67 and more than ready for Northrend's monochromatic armor.)

I disliked both the TBC clown suit /and/ WotLK's "four muted colors, one texture". Vanilla had some great looking sets, and not just tier loot but leveling gear. What happened, did they fire all those artists?
Eternauta Nov 1st 2011 2:26PM
Vanilla had some good tier sets, but leveling gear? It was the same (or worse) than Outland's clown suits.

If you just wear whatever drops, sure; but not, IMO, if you take the time to collect or craft all or most of the pieces of what WoWpedia calls "collections": Forest Leather, Aurora (cloth), Revenant (plate), Imperial Red (cloth), Heavy Scorpid (mail), Black or Red Mageweave, Imperial Plate (for when you want to cosplay a Stormwind guard), etc etc. They may not have any actual bonuses for wearing the whole set, but they look good, and that's what counts when transmogging.

Yeah my DK is currently sporting bright red an blue offsetting plate-mail...I look more like Captain America than an Unholy Knight of Doom.

Heck, even back in vanilla things were pretty darn bad. I haven't touched my belf pally since... some time around the middle of 2009 at lvl 38, and he's still wearing purple cape, silver plate chest, green and gold chain legs, blue/purple gloves, and brown boots.

Dear Elizabeth,
I asked the general editor a while back - if we could have a Transmog Column! Maybe weekly, maybe daily, or 3 times a week.
it could be a fashion show of the gear people have transmogged into. I already have 4 sets = 4 columns worth!
You'd be, of course, a natch to do this. . . =)
What do you think?
Please advise! I want to see what other people are doing AND I wanna show off too!

In hindsight, the wording in my email was a little vague. I never claimed to be the person in the screenshot, but I never really said I wasn't either.
Ambrosi was actually the second person I found. The first one that actually inspired the shot was a DK standing near the AH wearing a hideous mix of Troll gear, JP Tier, and the Horsemans Helm.
