Blue posts
I can't take credit for that. CM Lylirra passed it my way from Reddit and I found it hilarious enough to post up on my Twitter page.
I do enjoy the sentiment though. ;p
Most holiday items, including currencies, are designed to expire once the holiday ends, and we try to mark everything that'll poof accordingly.

Annoying though with the currency thing, that a confirmation box doesn't pop up when you go to purchase one of the expensive pets or items : / accidentally bought the wickerman when I went to click the familiar instead.
Tried to sell the item back to the vendor, but you can get a refund : /

I did the same thing. I rushed to get enough Tricky Treats to buy the wickerman before the holiday was over, but in my hurry I accidentally bought the familiar, and I already knew it.

I did the same exact thing. I got a dumb wickerman campfire instead of the awesome halloween kitty.

The expiration of holiday currency is one of those things that really annoyed me when they put it in. Especially for events like Brewfest where if you wanted to get everything, you had to log in EVERY day, and do every quest, every time, to be able to get 99% of the items (last couple of years, it was impossible to get all in one holiday.)
What's hurting sticking your leftover currency in the bank? Nothing. You used to be able to do that. So what if next year someone doesn't have to grind out 400+ items?
Hal Nov 2nd 2011 9:33AM
My best guess: Perpetual currency makes it difficult for them to change the holiday.
I'm not going to promote the idea of grinding Brewfest dailies every year again and again, but if Blizzard ever wanted to change that holiday, it is certainly easier for all involved if there isn't a hoard of currency sitting in various players' accounts.
Drakkenfyre Nov 2nd 2011 1:47PM
They already handled the changing once. Brewfest originally gave permanent tickets, and when they changed to coins, the Brewfest vendor exchanged them.
If you want to be cynical about it, you could say they did it on purpose to make sure it takes more time next year, because it means more subscription money for them.

Stupid me, I forgot about the no angle braces thing. My comment should have read "Is this the new title for the Today in Wow: (Today's Date) column?

Humorous linked picture, though I seem to vaguely recall that penny Arcade mocked the Tauren concept a long time back.
Luke Nov 2nd 2011 3:10PM
Yes but Penny Arcade isn't relevant because rape jokes aren't funny. And by relevant I mean not funny. And by not funny I mean what's Penny Arcade?
