I'm calling shenanigans on this entire list. First, I'm pretty sure that you can't use numbers in your name (BubbleØseven?... or does that zero count as an acceptable extended ascii character?). Second, I know for a fact that every single server in all of wow has a character named "Pyro," and anyone who has that name and isn't a fire mage needs to d.i.a.f. Third, there are some names with accented letters. Really? those are the ones that are the most common?Also, there are a few others that stand out as missing. Legolas (or lolegolas) for hunters, Arthas for DK's, dotdotdot for locks (seriously, every warlock name has a "dot" somewhere in it).Maybe this is like an artifact of dead accounts and dead names that are no longer listed on the armory? Because I have a very hard time believing that Pyro, Retbull, and Loldk are not in the "most common" names.

makes me glad only one of my characters names showed up here bovinestorm the rest are actually names, i felt like i needed a joke name for a change.

@PyroThat "Ø" isn't a zero, it's a scandanavian letter, so presumably just as valid as all the "i" with funny dots/accents.On the whole though, I sort of agree with you. The lack of raw data/source hurts the article. Most likely, someone at GuildOx did the search for "top 100 names for classes", then cherrypicked the most punny/funny (which to my eyes are different things).

@PyromelterTrick is, the Ø isn't a zero. It's a "slashed O", and of a Scandinavian origin.Wikipedia can tell us such wonderful things.

What's interesting is I just did a small search myself because of this list. At first I thought this list must have used too small of a sample size because half the shaman names are obviously Dwarves which are newest to shaman world. I think Shaman just tend to pick more original names so those lazy dwarves won out. I also have seen many other more popular nicks, but in my small search I realized that this is sorted by class and what people use for their class and not just the popularity of the names in general.For instance, there are indeed more Retbulls than Bubbleøseven. HOWEVER, this ranking is by class and nearly a fourth of the Retbull's are level 1 of various other classes, which means that there are more Bubbleøseven paladins than Retbull paladins.Pyro brought up an interesting point and there are more Pyro toons than nearly any on the list for mages (heck, Harryportal is under 100 toons), but I didn't even make it past the third page before realizing that Pyro is just a very common internet nick (heck, I'm icepyro, formerly vampyro, formerly several other pyro based nicks) and that there are a lot of people who I've seen use those kind of nicks as toon names (I don't, the only icepyro was a DK I made for ICftB events). Yeah, by page 3 of viewing 25 at a time, I saw enough non mage Pyro toons to account for any difference between most of the mage nick counts and the nick Pyro.very interesting list indeed.

From what I understand, names like "Arthas" are blocked the moment a server is created. I think certain other 'offensive' words are simply outright blocked as well, along with a few common variations. Likely, just enough to frustrate any would-be d-bags into just choosing something more mainstream.Like Shampon.Seriously?

I have a DK named "Brakeyoface" , a Worg Druid named "Therianthrop" and my wife plays a mage named "Mageyourday"

Some of my favorite names that I haven't seen:Burninator- Mage (he was a dragon....he was a dragon man)Bearcatcow- Druid (Tauren respectably)

Don't forget that the list of names is limited to characters over level 10.Sure, Retbull was first on everyones list when Tauren paladins came around. How many of the people that sniped the name actually bothered levelling the character past 10?

My mage is named Snówjob, I too think this list is outdated or somehow incorrect. The amount of "Snowjob"s in the armory is scary.
