With the release of the
death Knight set last week, all the tier 13 armor sets have been revealed. These sets will be dropping off the various bosses in the patch 4.3 raid, Dragon Soul. You won't be able to buy them with valor points (although there is an extensive collection of non-set valor point gear). That means if you want to look like the latest cool kid on the block, you're going to have to farm some bosses.
Check out the gallery below for
all the tier 13 armor sets.
My favorite? It's the
priest's set. They always seem to get some amazing look armor, and this iteration is no exception.
The mage set is right up there too -- very cool and very
magey.
Brace yourselves for what could be some of most exciting updates to the game recently with patch 4.3. Review the official patch notes, and then dig into what's ahead: new item storage options, cross-realm raiding, cosmetic armor skinning and your chance to battle the mighty Deathwing -- from astride his back!

while i'm dissappointed in the fact that the tier will be totally unavailable for purchase, i suppose it makes sense in light of the wowcrendor video that was on moviewatch the other day.

Yes, they're moving away from the idea that you can earn your gear and back towards the idea of it being awarded by lottery. You may get it quickly, or you could farm bosses for the next year and never see it, and there's nothing you can do about it...

I gotta admit - I blew the dust off my disc priest and started gearing her up specifically to get her into that T13 set. It's gorgeous.

never played a priest before, hate healing. However.... brb rolling priest from level 1
off-topic I re-watched part of the Blizzcon items panel, someone asked about dk t13, and the response from the dev was like "I've seen the DK t13 and it's AWESOME." If that's his is idea of awesome, I would hate to see what mediocre or even terrible would be.
/wondering how a troll will look in that priest tier

Pyro - It's Blizz. "Awesome" means "coated with bones and skulls. Also flames."

I'm a bit underwhelmed by the hunter set; most of the other tiers look new and bold, the hunter set looks like a leftover from wrath :(
Killik Nov 2nd 2011 1:19PM
I agree. It's a nice set, just seems thematically left in the last expansion. Mind you, Tier 11 made me afraid of what a 'bold' hunter concept might look like.
Drahken Nov 2nd 2011 3:14PM
I agree too. I always think the hunter sets are some of the best looking sets. (And not just because I'm a hunter.) But this one just seems very mediocre. Very "...meh". The skull helm has grown on me a little bit, but overall the thing looks like it could have been any other piece of random green gear from wrath or cata. I totally called they were going back to the "stalker" name, though.

I may not be in the majority, but I love the hunter set. The dragonwing shoulders that curve around from the back, the nicely formed hood with rows of spikes, that badass dragon skull helm. Overall it's one of my favourites.

Any word on new JP gear? I've seen no mention of it.
toofat2serve Nov 2nd 2011 1:16PM
With the exception I a brand new expansion, there is never "new" JP gear. When they release a new raid/tier/season, the just-now-old VP/CP gear becomes the "new" JP/HP gear.
PeeWee Nov 2nd 2011 1:44PM
I'd be more interested in the new 5-man sets

Patch 4.3 PTR: New dungeon sets revealed
http://wow.joystiq.com/2011/09/28/patch-4-3-ptr-new-dungeon-sets/
DarkWalker Nov 2nd 2011 4:24PM
The set from 4.3 that I really liked is the Dungeon Plate set. In fact, I would readily transmogrify any of the T13 into it :)
Hellwraith Nov 2nd 2011 1:16PM
Don't know if it's possible, but perhaps you could put the names of the sets somewhere in the gallery. Watching the gear with its name in mind gives a better understanding of the art concept.
And yes, Priest Tier13 is the best imo.
Cbeefman Nov 2nd 2011 1:16PM
wow, I just noticed that they released the sets in reverse alphabetical order!
lilywillylover Nov 2nd 2011 1:22PM
No, they didn't. They released the Druid sets after the Warlock sets. That's not reverse alphabetical order.
Nina Katarina Nov 2nd 2011 1:24PM
It is if you spell it Vdruid. The V is silent.
Cbeefman Nov 2nd 2011 1:28PM
oh, my bad then /sadface, i thought i found a DEEP DARK CONSPIRACY MWHAHAHAHAHAAHAH
Billaos Nov 2nd 2011 7:55PM
