Probably going to stay the way it is now indefinitely. Lot like it was before Cataclysm, you had oldworld, then outland, then northrend, and the timeline advanced as you went through them. Almost certainly it will stay like that now. Oldworld will forever be "just after the Cataclysm", and if they update Outland and Northrend then they'll be later in the timeline and deal with post-cataclysm stuff.Although with how little time WoW has left (I honestly don't see Blizzard trying to keep two MMO's going at the same time), it may simply not last long enough for them to ever get back around to updating Outland and Northrend.
