I think instead of just updating the old ones, they make new classes of elementals. The latest ones are the armored fountains in Vashj'ir.

Honestly, if you tune the graphics up higher, I'm still pretty impressed with the detailing on them. But I agree, I'd love to see all of the classic elementals get a good upgrade. it's been fun taking screenshots with some of the rare mobs around the world as my shammy "studies" with them.
The air ones have it worse, imho.

Isn't the armored fountain an elemental from wrath? Remember the VH boss, where you kept having to pop her bubble shield?
While I would love to see them drop the void walker shell (atleast, that's what it looks like to me) I like how they do add a few different variations each xpac.

I remember the first time I saw this mob, I was a level or two lower than it and I was above it on the cliffs. I hesitated fora moment and then just went for it. I ran and dived off the cliff and shot some range spell at him on my way down and came within inches of my life before splashing the walking puddle out of existence. I'll never forget that, I felt like an action hero lol.
