We don't normally announce release dates for patches. I can say that we're still working on it and if you're interested in checking it out, it's available on the PTR. We have a lot of information out on the patch and are planning a nice little "round up" piece of information for the front page for those that may have missed some of the coverage.

Read: the patch will be preceded "round up" piece of information earlier that week.
At least that's what happened with 4.2.

Bleh, 4.1, WTB edit button
Helston Nov 4th 2011 2:01AM
Hmm, turns out they never did that for either patch.
WTB edit/delete button x2.

I really can't understand why people still post questions on the Blizz forums (or ask in general, or ask the Queue) when patches are going to be released. When has Blizzard *ever* announced a patch release ahead of time? Why do you expect them to start doing it now? Blizzard are (in)famous for their unannounced release schedules and standard responses of "when it's ready" and "soon". How can people not know this by now?
I know, I know some people might be new and not know. But I checked the person who asked that question and they had almost 6000 achievement points and got the Northrend Dungeonmaster achieve back in July 2009.
Argh...it's a little thing, and I shouldn't let it get to me. But I had like 10 people asking in Guild Chat on Monday, loads more on general and now one in a forum. I'm just sick of it and after all these years of the same thing, it's driving me a little loopy.

/sigh
WoW players will complain about anything, won't they literal?
Saeadame Nov 4th 2011 2:57AM
Honestly, people ask that question in trade chat and I'm pretty sure it's a troll, at least on my server.
Literaltruth Nov 4th 2011 3:13AM
@Hih
I can't speak for Wow players generally, but I personally will complain about examples of fairly blatant stupidity. This would be the example today. I'm sure there was one particular example that caught my attention yesterday...can't quite put my finger on what it was, though.

It's fun to speculate with other people. I would never ask on an official forum. But in guild chat or on here, why not? And yeah they did give a release date for Ulduar, a week or so before it came out. I know that doesn't set a precedent, but it eliminates the, "Never" part of the equation. I think it will be out in the next 2 weeks.
Literaltruth Nov 4th 2011 7:22AM
@Noyou
Yeah, I like to speculate as well. And the ones that annoyed me on Guild Chat aren't people speculating, I'll generally join in with that (BTW, I reckon that the PTR Darkmoon Faire will run simulataneously with the live servers next week then Blizzard will release the 4.3 patch the week before the next Darkmoon Faire). But people who ask specifically "When did Blizzard say Patch 4.3 is out" or "What's the release date for 4.3?".
Jorges Nov 4th 2011 12:51PM
Just wait for a PTR patch to be tagged as RC (Release Candidate). Then you can speculate that it will hit the next week.
But before a RC, asking for a release date is just foolishness.

My girlfriend began playing WoW over the summer. I've been playing for about 3 and a half years. She keeps asking me if I've heard when Patch 4.3 is being released. I keep telling her "You will NOT FIND OUT until the patch actually drops." This statement can also be applied to ANYBODY else that keeps asking when it is going to come out. Nobody knows! We can only speculate. I think it will be later this month. Nobody will know for sure until our WoW Launchers begin to patch on a random Tuesday. XD

Lately, we have had some advance warning before patch day: The end of the arena season typically coincides with a patch release, and they generally give a few weeks notice to the end of the arena season. Last I've heard, there's still not been an announcement on the end of the season, so we still have more then 2 weeks before the patch is released.

About patch 4.3, I read on on Wowwiki that with 4.3 chaos orbs will not be soulbound (much as what happened with frozen orbs, if I remember correctly). However, I haven't found any blue post mentioning this, nor in patch notes. I did see a passing comment about it on the Blizzard forums, but - uhm ..? Is is correct?
If it is, maybe I finally can get something done with my dreamcloth :)
(I didn't get a single orb before dropping out of WoW due to IRL circumstances and the dreamcloth thing bugs me.)

It was announced by a CM awhile back.
And don't use WoWWiki. Use Wowpedia.org.
Wikia screwed over the creators of WoWWiki, so they moved to Wowpedia. It's much more updated, and much less advertisements.
