AdamAldaine asked:
Now that Guardian Cubs have been released, any word on how many people have quit, how many economies have been totally ruined, how many accounts have been hacked and how much money Blizzard made through all of this? (/sarcasm)
In all seriousness: I know this will be anecdotal, but how much does the going rate seem to be? My server is about 13k-ish.
I sold a Guardian Cub earlier today for around 20,000 gold. On larger servers with more people available to put Guardian Cubs into the market, they are going for 5,000 to 10,000 gold or so. The price is varying wildly, which was pretty much what we all predicted. As the market settles, you'll see some standardization of price.
AdamAldaine asked:
Also, is anyone else having problems accessing them through the remote Auction House?
Yes. It's a bug and it is being fixed ASAP.

If anything were to get cut, or delayed, it would be the pet battles. It's the most nonessential thing announced.
I really don't think that the Pet Battle system is going the way of the Dance Studio, and here's my reasoning: WoW is severely lacking endgame advancement that isn't endgame raiding. When I say severely lacking, I mean it in the largest sense of the word. There is nothing to do when all the quests are done and points accumulated. There is no system in game that you can further advance in after your character is as maxed out as you are willing to max it out. Pet Battles allow players to have alternate advancement past the level and "quest" cap, continue to invest in their characters and the game world, and not have to raid to do spend time in game moving forward.
Many other MMOs have systems like this in game already. WoW desperately needs something like it, and Blizzard knows it.
mahontyler asked:
Question for the Q: Any ideas on what the new profession/Secondary skill will before this Xpac. Brewing possibly???
There will not be a new profession for Mists of Pandaria, but there will be updates and upgrades to the existing professions, as with other expansions. The new skill cap will be 600.
calicojane asked:
Each expansion has had a pre release event in game. Demon attacks for BC; zombies for WoTLK; and elementals for Cata. Given that there is no Big Bad for this expac, what kind of event do you guys think we can expect for MoP?
The in-game events bringing about Mists of Pandaria will no doubt be big battles and events in the newly rekindled total war between the Alliance and the Horde. The first of these will most likely be the destruction of Theramore, followed by the Alliance reaction. Remember, it is naval vessels that are fighting that eventually crash into Pandaria, so in order to get there, we have to bring the war to the game in a bigger way before we can crash. Look for huge battles, big lore moments, and maybe some big character deaths or changes.

I for one hope the 5.0 event features Jaina doing her best Dark Phoenix impression.

I'm pretty sure it's the Pearl Harbor attack on Theramore and Jaina travels back home to her home Isles. The expansion starts with Varian and Thrall (under his own orders) send emissaries (namely, you the player) to Jaina's childhood home in the islands and this leads the boats to run into a giant turtle that have anthropromorphic pandas teaching the ways of the monk. Meanwhile, Garrosh is incensed at Thrall for undermining Horde affairs...sorry I thought this was all mentioned in the upcoming Jaina book, pre-5.0.

Jaina level 3 X-Factor Dark Jaina all over the Horde?
Yes please!
Didax Nov 4th 2011 12:25PM
As ravyncat was saying yesterday, I'll just be happy if Jaina comes out of the scenario without looking like a Faux Action Girl.

Also, Mr. McCurley, thanks for addressing my question, but how on Azeroth did you end up misspelling Didax as "calicojane?" Do all cat (druid)s just look the same to you?
Miranda Kali Nov 4th 2011 12:44PM
Varian: "Jaina, why are you crying?"
Jaina: "This isn't tears you buffoon, it's sweat. I'm currently making the endocrhine systems of five thousand, four hundred, and thity nine Horde troops spontaniously burst into flame. I'm trying to concentrate, here. DO NOT interrupt me again. ...Pardon me.
YOU ASKED FOR IT, BASTARDS!!!"
...FOOOOMMM!!!

The naval battle around pandaria has surely been raging for some time already. We were on our way to participate before we were dragged down to vashj'ir.
The theramore incident sounds like tasty event fodder though.
Arrohon Nov 4th 2011 3:24PM
I really hope that Jaina's brother is more like Jaina than their father. Not in being an orc loving carebear, but reasonable. Then I hope that he's visiting Jaina at Theramore when it's attacked. The attack results in his death. Jaina then loses both Theramore and her brother to the Horde so now it's personal. Unlike when the Horde killed Admiral Proodmoore, she'll have lost family that was at worst indifferent to their green-skinned neighbors. Now she'll have lost all of her family and her home to those be tried to make peace with. Now Garrosh should fear that a fireball might soon be coming his way. A fireball the size of the demon his father once slew. A fireball formed from the hate of one of Azeroth's most powerful mages. A fireball that is simply the wrath of Proudmoore.
Welldead Nov 4th 2011 3:37PM
Why are you saying my name?? Lol
DragonFireKai Nov 4th 2011 8:24PM
Considering that the Skyfire, which we see crash during the Deathwing lands on Pandaria, I don't know how much stock I put in the whole Naval Battle scenario.
herra.ledonne Nov 4th 2011 7:05PM
I really, REALLY hope the whole Theramore ordeal will make Jaina put down her book and start kicking some serious ass (or teleporting it a mile away- upward). Actually, hope she'll become the leader of the Alliances Pandaria Expedition or whatever it's gonna be named. If there is currently one leader in the Alliance who can fight a war the Alliance way, I'd wager on her. When you actually stop and think about it, she has a surprisingly good resume in warfare, with experience on working both with and against the Horde, a knack for leadership, and experience in settling to new, less than welcoming lands.

Am I the only person who saw the picture and kept thinking "Grats, mon!" or something like?
Elpizo Nov 4th 2011 11:52AM
I have an add-on for that, whenever I ding on any toon I get..
"Ding!"
"Hey! Grats mon!"
Ellemir Nov 4th 2011 1:18PM
Elpizo, where do you get that add-on?
mem0ryburn Nov 4th 2011 1:44PM
from Curse. It's called autogratz or autograts. You can customize it to say whatever you like for different things, and even have it say the toon's name in the grats
Killik Nov 4th 2011 6:15PM
@mem0ryburn Autogratz and its ilk are absolutely horrible. Genuinely fill me with disgust - probably from being in a massive guild. I don't think that's what Elpizo is talking about though.
Docseuzz Nov 4th 2011 11:05AM
I'm surprised that it's assumed that the assault on Theramore was not provoked
thedoctor2031 Nov 4th 2011 11:15AM
Have you looked at the story line recently? The Horde have been doing quite a bit of attacking without much provocation from the Alliance.
dcisko Nov 4th 2011 11:23AM
In Wolfheart, it's pretty explicit that Garrosh is initiating war (in Ashenvale, for the book) for expansionist reasons: he wants the land and forests so that the Horde can grow. That gives him a great reason to attack Theramore: to remove an Alliance obstacle to his plans. Theramore provides the Alliance with a base from which they can threaten Durotar and Mulgore. If the Horde is moving their armies north, they'll need to remove the implicit threat to their homes.
