This is something I've said for a long time. I honestly think that Blood Elves, Draenei, Goblins, and Worgen easily could've made a third "neutral" faction. Think about it. Blood Elves have no attachments to the Horde. They joined them because they were there, that's it. Draenei have no attachments to the Alliance. Like the BE's they joined the Alliance because that's who was there when they crash landed. Goblins have always been the father figure of neutrality and easily could've been part of a "neutral" faction. And Worgen, besides being "human" have no attachments to the Alliance. Their storyline could've very easily been moved to a third faction, with the Alliance shunning them because of their newly feral ways, and they can't join the Horde because the Forsaken is their mortal enemy. I think if this did happen, this third faction would be the coolest of the three. As it is right now I don't think it could/would happen. The races are stuck on Alliance and Horde because if they did move certain races to a third faction, people would be pissed. I know I wouldn't be happy. And to make things even you'd have to add 6 new races to complete a third faction. Or at the very least, four new races. And I definitely don't see that happening. I still think that in an alternate WoW timeline, it easily could've been done.

I really hate when people go on like this about such-and-such race should leave. People NEVER look at this from both sides of the equation. Alliances aren't formed for the benefit of one faction. It goes both ways. No sane member of the Horde is going to let the Blood Elves go so easily, just as a start. The Sunwell is arguably one of the strongest forces on Azeroth. During the Second War the magisters were able to use it to protect the entirety of Silvermoon from dragon attacks, and the only reason they didn't use it similarly during the Third was because Villain Sue sold them out. Then there's the fact that they're arguably the most knowledgable mages in Azeroth. What makes you think anyone would want to lose such a resource? There's also the fact that this isn't Anasterian's Quel'Thalas anymore. That kind of isolationism ended rather abruptly when their wagon train to the family reunion on another planet got nipped in the bud. It's been proven a couple of times now that it's a tremendously bad idea for them to try to go it alone, and I think people are seriously understating their attachment to Sylvanas. I don't see anyone in Sunfury Spire being especially pleased about the turn she's taken. And as much as I hate that ridiculous fanfic about Lor'themar, it is canon, and they weren't even feeling it when she had to twist their arm about Northrend, *before* all this other shit went down. No, I don't think they're going anywhere. If Sylvanas goes rogue, she's going to be doing it on her own, and the Horde's going to need the Blood Elves to stop her.

"...it is canon..."This is Blizzard we're talking about. There is no canon...
