As you saw in our
Darkmoon Faire video tour, the revamped Faire is now active on the PTR. It brings a batch of new companion pets and mounts for you to collect, including the Darkmoon Dancing Bear, the Swift Forest Strider, and seven brand new companion pets. Each of these mounts and pets must be purchased with game tickets, which are earned by winning the game attractions once per day.
Hop past the jump for all of the new pets and mounts and their ticket costs.

Brace yourselves for what could be some of most exciting updates to the game recently with patch 4.3. Review the official patch notes, and then dig into what's ahead: new item storage options, cross-realm raiding, cosmetic armor skinning and your chance to battle the mighty Deathwing -- from astride his back!

hi!
Minstrel Nov 6th 2011 5:04PM
Any word yet on what replica gear will be available and how much they cost?
Piper Nov 6th 2011 5:14PM
MMO Champion shows the Helm, Shoulders, Chest, and Legs at 75 tokens. The Boots, Bracers, Belts, and Gloves at 55 tokens.
All of the DMF items say "Replica " so hopefully that will show up in the transmog tooltip. That's a nice way of distinguishing between those that have the originals and those that are going for just the looks.
Minstrel Nov 6th 2011 5:15PM
Thanks, Piper, just checked MMO Champion. I should really add MMO Champ to my rotation of WoW sites that I check regularly.

WANT! Well all but the monkey. Monkeys are filthy, repulsive creatures even in video game form :P
Jeff (Not that one ^ ) Nov 6th 2011 5:27PM
But he wears a fez. Fezes are cool.
Cyno01 Nov 6th 2011 5:27PM
But it has a fez. Fezzes are cool.
Noyou Nov 6th 2011 5:35PM
LOL. Not a fan of damn dirty apes either. Even though my hunter has one. :p
RogueJedi86 Nov 6th 2011 7:58PM
How about a bowtie? Bowties are cool too.
Also Stetsons. God I'd kill to see a monkey in a Stetson cowboy hat.
AudreyR Nov 6th 2011 10:48PM
@Noyou But humans are apes. You must be having Blizzcon flashbacks.

I'm so insanely excited!! I love pets and mounts so much. I can't decide what I'll save up for first, but probably the dancing bear mount.
And, the new seapony pet.. dear god, I'm so excited for a new fishing pet that. I love any pets that I can get, via fishing. Fantastic!
tulipblossom Nov 6th 2011 5:12PM
I'm so excited that I keep typoing, lol x3
Are the new tonk and zeppelin both learnable companion pets or are they like the ones from the past, that are just kept in your inventory?
Bapo Nov 6th 2011 5:11PM
Any info on how many tickets you can get per day? Or are the dailies not available yet?
Noyou Nov 6th 2011 5:35PM
Along with that, any indication if the profession quests are monthly/repeatable?
Boobah Nov 6th 2011 6:43PM
I got the impression that the profession quests are dailies, so you can do them seven times a month, which isn't all that impressive while leveling (not bad, just not impressive) but a godsend for finishing a profession off. I'd've loved to have had the option to cover the 490-525 spread with incredibly cheap mats on my alts.
I might even (slowly) level a second leatherworker; it may take a year using nothing but DMF dailies, but far better than trying to get all the raw leather to level it the conventional way.
Schadenfreude Nov 6th 2011 6:48PM
Just going from the MMO-Champion post, it looks like you can get 20 tickets from doing the profession quests (assuming you have 2 primary (2x4 tickets) and all 4 secondary (4x3) professions), 10 tickets from Test Your Strength, and 5 tickets each from the 5 dailies. There are also the 9 item quests to do, which award 80 tickets if you can do them all (sounds like they might be rare drops). Thus, per week you can get a maximum of 20+10+80+25*7=285.
That's assuming the rare drop quests aren't repeatable, and, indeed, that you are able to complete them all in a week-- I have a feeling that they might be rare drops so you might need to be quite lucky to see all the items drop. Even minus those 80 item quest tickets, though, you'll be able to see the first people with a darkmoon mount by the end of the first week or so.

I quite like that bear but I wish it didn't have that silly floating logo permanently over its head.
Prelimar Nov 6th 2011 5:22PM
wtf is a sea pony?? O.o
tulipblossom Nov 6th 2011 5:25PM
As far as I've seen, it's a little seahorse pet that floats in a bubble, much like the purple puffer fish, from the Bloat Fish TCG card, that will go live with 4.3.
