The Queue: Lovers in a dangerous Daylight Saving Time
Hope you U.S. residents set your clocks back last night. Song unrelated but owns. It's pronounced "Co-burn."
Andreas asked:
Blizzard stated at Blizzcon that they dont like the passive buff totems like Strenght of the Earth. We also say in the preview that many new are added. But if Windfury and Wrath of the Air is removed, there doesent seem to be any air totems left for us to drop. All the new air totems are cooldown totems, whith short duration. Does this mean we're getting some new totems? Maybe finally a air elemental?
Yep, you should anticipate several new active air totems, including that one that the devs mentioned at BlizzCon that does an AOE knockback. Maybe we'll get an air elemental! That'd be neat.
DarkSpade asked:
Were the low level dungeons over nerfed or is heirloom gear just that overpowered?
Your heirloom gear is a significant power increase, yes, but there are also other factors affecting your power level, like talents and spells being quite different and more powerful (in some cases) than they were in The Burning Crusade. The dungeons themselves weren't nerfed. You're just a powerhouse.
Dr. Nothing asked:
q for the q: I'm curious as to whether blizzard have announced any new race / class combos for the current races for MoP? Because that Broken Warlock trainer in shattrath has been bugging me this entire expac
Nope, no new race/class combos have been announced, and none are likely to be announced.
Tirrimas asked:
With the removal of minimum range and the elimination of the second weapon slot, how likely is it that Hunters will gain a "viable" melee spec?
Hunters in MoP will have no melee weapon slot at all, so no, there will be no viable melee spec. In fact, there'll be no melee spec, period!

Most of Canada also set their clocks back last night. :P And Bruce Cockburn happens to be Canadian as well.
Although I prefer the Barenaked Ladies cover of the song (also Canadian). Great song, regardless!

And not all of the US observes daylight savings. Generalizations will out.
But my object was not to troll, it was to say, yes, the Barenaked Ladies version is better and that I was thinking just that when I read your comment. Woo!

I am wondering how this 80's gem has eluded me. Thank you Mr. Sacco. I will have to look into the cover. This song seems to capture the vibe of 80's alt rock. /salute.

Chalk it up to my ignorance of music, but I'd only ever heard the BNL version, and I have to agree that it's better. The lyrics have an almost haunting feel to them which I think the cover captures really well.

No, not all the US. Just 48 out of 50 states.

Funny story, I used to work in a record store and this new girl started there who was as dim as the day is long, and she was given the task of making new header cards to replace any of the ratty looking ones. That afternoon I was searching for a record for somebody when I saw that the Bruce Cockburn (pronounced Co-burn, if anybody's unsure) card didn't read "Bruce Cockburn" at all but rather "Bruce Cockbum". She literally read the "rn" as an "m" and didn't even question it. Amazing.

"She literally read the "rn" as an "m" and didn't even question it. Amazing."
What's amazing about that? If it was me, having no knowledge of who that is (so thanks for enlightening me today), and the tag was ratty, I could see this happen. I mean, without knowing the music, to me Cockburn is just as terrible of a name as Cockbum and I'd question the name more than the mistake. Seriously? Cockburn? Pronounce it Co-burn all you want, that's just trying to get out of being called an embarrassing name.
Speaking of s/rn/m/, do you realize how many myspace hacks were simply a fake email linking to rnyspace.com and then making you sign in? Even as I type that, my font is close enough that I double checked to make sure I had typed the right thing.

Right, no you're right, it's not funny at all *rollseyes*
Khirsah Nov 6th 2011 2:18PM
@ rnern0rybum...
That is all.

In the early 80's (can't remember exactly when) I was in Vancouver doing the tests to join the Canadian Armed Forces, it was a 2 day proccess so I had to stay overnight. I ended up seeing Bruce Cockburn that night at the QE theatre.
Passed my test and went home, a month later they called and I had gotten a good job so I turned them down.
Talk about bringing back memories there, Michael Sacco, thanks for that.

As the video shows, you can change you clock several times while driving through Arizona alone, because of the native american tribes that do and do not locally observe daylight savings.
Katherine Nov 6th 2011 5:43PM
Thanks to the queue for mentioning US daylight savings, now I can change my server and PDT/PST clocks and still know when my raids are going on. My guilds never tell me this stuff :P

Yet another reason to stay out of Arizona!
Phaelan Nov 6th 2011 9:11PM
@Noyou actually it's 49/50 state observe DST. Prior to 2005 there was 48/50 but as of 2006 Indiana went to DST. The reason why was that Indiana was completely confusing, the Southeastern part of the state was on EDST, Northwestern and Southwestern parts observed CDST. The rest of the state was on Easter Standard time meaning that they didn't change at all. In 2006 all of Indiana went to Easter Daylight Savings time except for parts of NW and SW IN, which are on Central Daylight Savings time.
Interestingly enough, it was the fight over this that extended DST the extra 4 weeks over the course of the year, as Rep Fred Upton read about the IN fight and got DST extended

"@Noyou actually it's 49/50 state observe DST."
Hawaii and Arizona don't observe it.
Kilmarnok Nov 7th 2011 10:03AM
@Phaelan
Fun fact: Rep Fred Upton is the uncle of model Kate Upton.
Derrek Nov 7th 2011 12:27PM
I really dislike DST. It's like suffering a mandatory bout of jetlag twice a year for no logical reason. My internal clock is still confused as I type this. Is it lunchtime yet? Yes? No? Maybe? o.0

After watching this video all I want from blizz is a "Duck" pet ....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfIcWol9AHY
icepyro Nov 6th 2011 1:33PM
If Blizz makes a duck pet, I want it to be a "duck pull toy", better known now as a "duckroll". It should be an epic pet too.
+1 internets to those who have been on the internet before rickrolling was a thing and didn't have to look that up.
