Allow me a fanboy moment for a bit:This is why I love Blizzard as a company. They could have easily just planted some mini-games in the zone and called it done, but they went out of their way to really bring life (or, in this case, death) to the island by adding in all these ghosts and creepy places. I'm sure the developers know that 90% o the people who go there will never notice or care about this stuff, but it's clear that Blizzard cares. As often as they're accused of being lazy and rehashing this or recycling that, it's clear that someone went way out of their way to make the dark corners of Darkmoon Island truly special. GG Blizz. And I mean that.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. There are so many things like this (memorials for people, hidden corners of the world, minor characters with just things to say, LK's appearance in the Howling Fjord trance, etc) that so few people know about, but truly add to the world. It makes it not even just a game, but a work of art...one that I'm proud to play in.
