The Purpler is a fairly straightforward Hallow's End video. A group of folks from the guild Off the Air (US-A) got together and produced this machinima. You can make out somewhere between six to a dozen actors dancing, spooking, and haunting it up to pay homage to Michael Jackson's Thriller.
In some ways, The Purpler represents one of my favorite genres of machinima. It's a social event and group effort from a guild. Sure, it doesn't use fancy graphics, but it's obvious Off the Air had a hell of a lot of fun making the video. Isn't that kind of the point?
Congratulations to Off the Air on a fun video; I hope you keep doing stuff like this in the future. Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! Have suggestions for machinima we ought to feature? Toss us an email at moviewatch@wowinsider.com.
At first, watching this, I was sort of like, "Meh..." but it really started to pick up and you could tell that everyone was having a lot of fun making it.
They should've had a Nelf male in there doing the Billy Jean dance, just because. Then he could've been torn apart and cannibalized......... *ahem*
I'm still bummed that the worgen didn't get the Thriller dance.
To my guild, Off the Air, Great job putting this together. Again coordinating all of us that are so uncoordinated is an amazing feat all on its own. This is the way a guild should be. To all those that watched us, thank you for you comments...... if you can not walk in a room as a naked undead warlock and try to face tank a room full of mobs, simply to see what everyone else does as a reaction, or send the tank in solo to fight a boss while everyone else is locked outside, then you are not experiencing all WOW has to offer.

I like the video, but I am still very glad that the undead in WoW do NOT dance Thriller as their /dance.

i'd trade my female undead boring dance for the thriller dance anyday.
Fun video, starts kind of slow but keeps getting better. Good times.

Yes, that was a very enjoyable watch.
Some videos try too hard and get too polished.
I could recognise all of those images and I liked how they were put together.
If those people put out more, I'll certainly watch them!

Lol, We do have older stuff on Youtube. This craziness has been going on for near
2-ish years.

My favorite bit is at 3:22 when Our Heroine tears around a corner, sees the picnic basket setup and backs up all "WHOAAAA ... "
Kook Nov 8th 2011 2:31PM
Hahaha, absolutely brilliant!
I also adore the song they play during the credits - one of my favourites :D
(hmm, does that make me a psycho? ...naaah)
