I'm rather disappointed that none of the questions regarding raid utility were answered. That really is a sore spot with me, seeing as how they keep saying how much they want to buff kitty druids so that they can pop out of form and start healing at the drop of a hat and go back to DPSing. So when the druid can do everything we can do just as well if not better, and can shift into heal mode at will, why should anyone ever want to bring a rogue to a raid?

I've been saying for some time now that bringing a rogue to a raid is a mistake. Before you yell: I am a rogue. I have always been a rogue. I will always be a rogue. But, there is nothing that we bring to a raid that isn't brought by someone else, who can, in most cases, do it better than a rogue.
This is why I gave up on raiding. No one is looking for a rogue to join their raid, if they want a rogue in their raid, they have one in the guild.
I agree that it would be nice for them to say: "Here's X talent, no one else brings this, and if a raid wants this, they will have to recruit rogues", but that goes back to "Bring the class, not the player" and Blizzard has said time and again, they don't want that. The downside of "Bring the player, not the class" is that no one will ever take a rogue, and thus, those of us who only wish to raid on a rogue get left out, a lot.

I run assassination. I ran combat daggers in BC, mostly cause the other rogue in the guild ran swords. Less competition. I wanted to run assassination back then, but it really wasn't viable.
Anyhow, yeah the only utility I ever really seem to use is Shiv, for enrage. I am pretty awesome at doing adds on Rag, but I feel other classes can be quite smoother at that phase.
I am PvE mostly. The nice thing about playing a rogue is we don't change much. The bad part is, we don't change. Mages got heroism, dks and warlocks got a battlerez. Warriors got a raid wall. Rogues don't seem to get anything useful as patches go on during an xpac, and when we do "smokebomb", it isn't even useful in PvE encounters or when something is useful, its nerfed.

Well, we can blame PvP for anything remotely useful getting nerfed. God forbid they just hurry up and make some things work differently in PvP and PvE so they can make something that isn't only good for 3 seconds because some whiner in an Arena lost their winning streak to a Rogue.
