The Queue: All Darkmoon Faire, all the time

Today's edition of The Queue is inspired by the lot of you who have been spamming the comments of every one of our Darkmoon Faire articles, trying to find out where the heck the thing is in the world. Enjoy.
Many readers asked:
Where is the Darkmoon Island located?
We don't know! You get to the island via a portal, and you exit the same way. The island has a map you can view, but you can't zoom out at all when you're viewing it, and it doesn't appear on the continent maps.
It's a mystery.
missemilyblack asked:
Does the fancy new DMF have any level restrictions? Are the quests/vendor items for level cap only? The idea of snagging cool pets and mounts and heirlooms on lower level characters and new servers is just too good to be true, I figured I should double check before getting too excited :3
Most of the games are available to players of all levels, and thus the largest source of game tickets are available to players of all levels. I don't think you can do the monthly profession quests as a lowbie, and the transmogrification gear requires level 60 to use/equip, but otherwise you're totally free to hit the Faire, play games, earn pets, and all of that sort of thing.
Tokens are a bit pricey for a low-level player, though (see below), so you may need an alt or a friend to bankroll your gaming for awhile. Hmm. That's very much like taking a kid to the carnival, isn't it?
@jojojetson asked:
Will the tickets that I've been holding onto be eligible to purchase new items?
Nope. The patch 4.3 currency is brand new currency. The stuff you've been sitting on will just be trash.
@jaxland101 asked:
best/worst game there at dmf?
I enjoy Whack-a-Gnoll. It's frantic and fast-paced and emulates the real Whack-a-Mole games well in that way. I hate the human cannon game, because I can't aim my drops worth a damn. I'm sure you'll all be expressing the same sentiment in a few weeks when this thing launches.
@illskatrillz510 asked:
Im confused. What do you buy with gold? The currency to redeem prizes? Or the currency to play games?
The currency to play the games. Each game requires one token to play, but since they're cheating carnies, it may take you multiple attempts to win at a particular game. You can buy a pouch of five tokens for 60 silver or a pouch of 20 tokens for 1 gold, 92 silver. Chump change for level-capped players. Pretty darn expensive for low-level characters.
@Anslym asked:
Are the replica sets BoP?
You know, I assumed right off the bat that they would be, but I checked the vendors and that doesn't seem to be the case. It's all labeled bind on equip. It's possible Blizzard expects players to build a gold market for these items, which is pretty cool. It's also possible that it's unintended and the status of those items wll change before the patch goes live. It's the PTR, after all.

I would love to see a column titled "How to Die". Basically a how not to die in a humorous vein. Such as tanks pulling more than the dps can handle or failing to wait for the healer to regain mana. Better yet, a tank that pulls while the healer is dead and the druid is busy rezzing. Basically, an "If you do this, you will die."

How about a "Two Bosses Enter, One Leaves" across other games? Jaina Proudmoore versus TOR's Satele Shan! Darth Malgus versus Thrall! Gelbin Mekkatorque(Gnome leader) versus Shantotto(one of the major Tarutaru from FFXI)! I imagine enough WoW players have played other MMOs for it to have some relatability here. I'd read it.

I would like to remind the community that Mr. Belt has indeed already done a Blood Pact article: http://wow.joystiq.com/2010/04/13/blood-pact-little-known-warlock-facts/

@MattKrotzer:
"That's long been one of my major complaints–-despite coming from 'Tank'spot, the Tankspot videos contain very little information pertaining to tanks and what their role is in a fight."
Go back and look at the OLD Tankspot videos, back when Ciderhelm was narrating all of them. Way back to Naxx, like. You'll see that those videos DID, in fact, focus on the tank's role. In fact, every video STARTED with an introduction to the area where you'd be fighting the boss, with positioning explanations. This was filmed in an empty post-kill room, so it was really good for getting your bearings versus, say, having a healer do narration over a kill video, which may or may not be showing anything relevant at the time positioning was discussed... if it even came up at all.
Here's the first Tankspot video I ever watched, their guide to Anub'rekhan. If you're a tank who was raiding during early Wrath, you'll cry to remember how amazing these videos were (and if you weren't, you'll cry to have missed them): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g47oN5snpSU

I just can't help shake the feeling that there's more to this LGBT issue that should be hashed out and understood.
Let's think for a moment.
"I'm gay, and I think there should be more of an emphasis placed on gays in WoW." (that's just a generalized statement, not an actual quote)
Ok, then let me pose a question: Where is heterosexuality discussed, paraded or celebrated in WoW?
I haven't seen it, nor have I asked for a column from wow insider to be solely geared towards the hetero gamers, and the hetero community.
I think it's sad that you feel necessary to have a segregated column just so you can feel special.
Not to mention the fact that a separate column altogether would not further the cause of including gay discussion in WoW but contain it in a tiny corner of the internet where only X number of people would even bother to read it.
On a side note, this is the most discussion I've seen on here about LGBT that hasn't been inflammatory trolling, but rather decent thoughts on the matter. I'm glad we had this discussion.

I wonder how much gold will be wasted trying to win a goldfish that will die in less than a week.
Drakkenfyre Nov 9th 2011 11:06AM
Go fish in the fountain in Dalaran. If you try skilling up to the cap, you will get all the goldfish you will ever need.
Once you get to about 450, with the exception of landing in the very edge of the fountain, and getting things off the sewer loot table, all you will get is goldfish and coins.
I really wish we could sell them to Breanni, or another vendor or something. Really tired of having hundreds of goldfish that don't restore enuf health once you get past 70.
Got to admit, a "sickly goldfish" pet or something, even a grey item, from the games, would be funny.
Drakkenfyre Nov 9th 2011 11:08AM
And by selling to a vendor, I mean as a pet, and a higher price.
Miranda Kali Nov 9th 2011 11:12AM
What we need is an updated version of the blue and green ragdoll, sold for five hundred tickets, and about the size of a furbolg.
...And I should be able to drive around with it in the sidecar of my motorcycle.
Shinae Nov 9th 2011 11:13AM
I'm going to name mine Klaus.
Revrant Nov 9th 2011 11:14AM
Or that pogo stick that busts apart and sends the spring flying past your eye and you still wake up late at night screaming with an irrational fear of everything from pig tails to Gnomes and it-
What?
Mackgyver Nov 9th 2011 11:15AM
@Miranda So you can take the carpool lane to work?
MattKrotzer Nov 9th 2011 11:33AM
Shinae:
Klaus is the name of my gryphon hatchling. He just seemed very German in his bearing... goose-stepping around Stormwind.

Those pets she sells gotta eat something, after all.

Q4TQ: Have I missed any information about what rewards will be available for the new pet battle system? I might dabble in it but it doesn’t seem like something I will put a lot of time into. I ask because I really don’t want a repeat of archaeology; i.e. yeah you don’t have to do it, but if you do you have the chance of getting (at the time) one of the best healing trinkets in game. Thank you!
(cutaia) Nov 9th 2011 11:20AM
Nothing announced. It doesn't sound like it will end up being a "required" part of your normal progression, though. I'm guessing it'll be mainly cosmetic rewards, or rewards related to pet battling itself.
MattKrotzer Nov 9th 2011 11:55AM
Yeah, it's being offered as an alternative to the PVE/PVP gear advancement "grind" that some people have tired of. I suspect it'll be largely self-contained, though I wouldn't be surprised to see some cosmetic stuff, up to and including exclusive pets, come from the system.
Shinae Nov 9th 2011 11:59AM
What the ghostwriters said.^
Perhaps things like red-and-white hats and pet carriers.
Papa Hummel's Pet Biscuits would be nice too.
