The Queue: All Darkmoon Faire, all the time

Today's edition of The Queue is inspired by the lot of you who have been spamming the comments of every one of our Darkmoon Faire articles, trying to find out where the heck the thing is in the world. Enjoy.
Many readers asked:
Where is the Darkmoon Island located?
We don't know! You get to the island via a portal, and you exit the same way. The island has a map you can view, but you can't zoom out at all when you're viewing it, and it doesn't appear on the continent maps.
It's a mystery.
missemilyblack asked:
Does the fancy new DMF have any level restrictions? Are the quests/vendor items for level cap only? The idea of snagging cool pets and mounts and heirlooms on lower level characters and new servers is just too good to be true, I figured I should double check before getting too excited :3
Most of the games are available to players of all levels, and thus the largest source of game tickets are available to players of all levels. I don't think you can do the monthly profession quests as a lowbie, and the transmogrification gear requires level 60 to use/equip, but otherwise you're totally free to hit the Faire, play games, earn pets, and all of that sort of thing.
Tokens are a bit pricey for a low-level player, though (see below), so you may need an alt or a friend to bankroll your gaming for awhile. Hmm. That's very much like taking a kid to the carnival, isn't it?
@jojojetson asked:
Will the tickets that I've been holding onto be eligible to purchase new items?
Nope. The patch 4.3 currency is brand new currency. The stuff you've been sitting on will just be trash.
@jaxland101 asked:
best/worst game there at dmf?
I enjoy Whack-a-Gnoll. It's frantic and fast-paced and emulates the real Whack-a-Mole games well in that way. I hate the human cannon game, because I can't aim my drops worth a damn. I'm sure you'll all be expressing the same sentiment in a few weeks when this thing launches.
@illskatrillz510 asked:
Im confused. What do you buy with gold? The currency to redeem prizes? Or the currency to play games?
The currency to play the games. Each game requires one token to play, but since they're cheating carnies, it may take you multiple attempts to win at a particular game. You can buy a pouch of five tokens for 60 silver or a pouch of 20 tokens for 1 gold, 92 silver. Chump change for level-capped players. Pretty darn expensive for low-level characters.
@Anslym asked:
Are the replica sets BoP?
You know, I assumed right off the bat that they would be, but I checked the vendors and that doesn't seem to be the case. It's all labeled bind on equip. It's possible Blizzard expects players to build a gold market for these items, which is pretty cool. It's also possible that it's unintended and the status of those items wll change before the patch goes live. It's the PTR, after all.

Q. Why aren’t other raids available?
A. The Raid Finder is intended to help players experience the current tier of content. Also, many older raids don’t require a full complement of raiders, making the Raid Finder unnecessary. This is also the first rollout of the feature and we decided to start things simple, rather than potentially delay the feature’s introduction.
If the Raid Finder proves popular, more raid instances may be added to it in the future.

At launch it will be only dragon soul. They might try to go back and do earlier cata raids later, but that would mean retuning them, possibly changing some mechanics, and creating another tier of gear (and balancing that).

The confusion, I think, came from the early stages of PTR, when BoT and FL were visible as selectable raids in the Raid Finder interface; however, the Raid Finder was not functional at all at that point, and those two options have since been removed and replaced with the two DS wings.
So, until MoP, Raid Finder will be DS, and DS only.
Shinae Nov 9th 2011 11:21AM
Granted, I haven't been on the 4.3 PTR for a while. When I saw TotFW and BWD available in the LFR interface, it was during the first week of the PTR and DS hadn't been implemented yet. I could have just been seeing placeholders in the UI.
(Now I'm ODed on acronyms.)

In the first week(s) of the PTR the Raid Finder wasn't in yet. The raid button still loaded up the same old Raid Browser that's been in the game since 3.3. TotFW and BWD were showing up there because there that's how the Raid Browser works on live right now. I can understand the confusion, since no one has ever actually used the Raid Browser.

Whatever happened to the Cataclysm zone postmortems? A few weeks ago, it was said that they were coming back really soon, with the Uldum post set to go up the next day and Twilight Highlands soon after, but I've not seen hide nor hair of them.
Killik Nov 9th 2011 11:36AM
The writers are caught in a really, really long cutscene where Harrison Jones writes a cooler article than them. And is Indiana Jones.
Alex Ziebart Nov 9th 2011 1:36PM
It's my fault that the Uldum one hasn't gone up yet. I keep walking away from writing it because the zone actually makes me very angry, and I don't want to publish an ASCII representation of me punching my keyboard.
blissfire Nov 9th 2011 8:03PM
I am now really, really interested in reading the Uldum postmortem.
Cambro Nov 9th 2011 8:22PM
...could you post an ASCII representation of you punching your keyboard anyway?
Bellajtok Nov 9th 2011 11:10AM
How often can the profession quests at the new DMF be completed? I've heard that they're dailies, but I didn't get that impression from the video. I'm probably wrong, but can someone just please confirm for me?
Shinae Nov 9th 2011 11:30AM
The profession quests could be "monthlies" as I've heard that you get a maximum of 5 profession skill-ups per month.
Draelan Nov 9th 2011 1:41PM
Hm... I was under the impression that the quests were dailies, but since the Darkmoon Faire is only accessable for 1 week per month, you could only complete them 7 times per month. I haven't tried any of the Darkmoon Faire stuff on the PTR... perhaps I should...

"I'm sure you'll all be expressing the same sentiment in a few weeks when this thing launches."
Not me, 'cause I don't suck at human cannons. They'll just have to nerf it for you Faire casuals, Alex. :P
Noyou Nov 9th 2011 11:27AM
"'cause I don't suck at human cannons."
Oh there is at least one joke in there. Come on Grove, help me out here...

Grovinofdarkhour Nov 9th 2011 1:34PM
Sorry Noyou, this morning I AM trying to stay away from the punch.
(But you could probably do something with "Faire casuals" too, if you were so inclined.)
crystallinegirl Nov 9th 2011 4:27PM
There's actually a cannon out in Shattrath right now, manned by a gnomish representative of the Faire. You can take a flight for free and practice hitting the target. (The target's in a small pond just outside of Shattrath.)
VioletArrows Nov 9th 2011 11:12AM
The little bags of tokens for games scales with your level. At lvl 8, the small bag cost me 50 copper and the big bag cost me 1s50c.
