They didn't quote Mike. They took a statement on an estimated release date and rephrased it as though it's absolute.
So just for that, I'll tell you that patch 4.3 is not being released on November 15. People playing the game now know before a magazine. So there! :p
And knowing is half the babble(?).

The twice-weekly lockouts we recently implemented in Taiwan and Korea for 4.2 raid content is not something we'll be applying to NA or EU realms. This was a test for us to see how it could affect raid participation by changing the lockout system of older raids. With the release of 4.3, the Raid Finder feature will allow everyone to go for additional attempts at loot drops. We're very excited about the Raid Finder and will be closely monitoring it and how people use it.

Why do I find out that my Steam Account may be compromised from a WoW site? *facepalm*
Drakkenfyre Nov 10th 2011 10:22PM
Well, they have (supposedly) been popping up a message after you quit a Steam game today.
Valve claims no info was taken, and the user info is encrypted anyway. With SteamGuard, you have no real danger of getting your account broken into (SteamGuard is like Steam's version of the Battle.net Authenticator, except it works by identifying your hardware, and does not require an authenticator, for those who don't know) but the problem is if you use the same password on other sites, and the people somehow manage to crack the data.
Al Nov 11th 2011 7:41AM
Yeah, I had the message appear earlier.
Amaxe Nov 11th 2011 9:51AM
So "no evidence of personal info taken"
Does that mean the evidence still exists that personal info was taken> ;-)

Thank god they aren't implementing a bi-weekly raid lockout for new content, it might increase progression, but it would taunt so many people to raid more, and ultimately, I think, make raiding too fast pace, and impossible, for many of us, to stay dedicated to.
Now I think it'd be awesome for Pre-Cata stuff, it'd really help with transmog gear.
jmyoung Nov 11th 2011 3:12AM
it was never meant for 4.3+ dragon soul as LFR solves the issue
Twill Nov 10th 2011 10:17PM
If they make it so we have to raid twice as often per-week, then we'll burn through content twice as fast, have half the time with IRL stuff, and get bored with WoW twice as quickly.
I'm glad they made that decision.

"If they make it so we have to raid twice as often per-week..."
This way of thinking annoys me so much about the raiding community in WoW. I don't really care how anybody else plays their game but when you speak like you "have" to just because you can, that's so out of control. Perhaps your guild will ramp up but if you don't like it then why not find a more casual guild? I realize this particular example is no longer relevant but it always seems to be an issue for some people in this game.
Lipstick Nov 10th 2011 11:21PM
And yet, they had 2 raid lockouts per week via 10 and 25 in ICC days, and everyone complained that cata made content too inaccessible.
You really can not have it both ways.
Either you want content to be accessible, or you don't.
In the ICC days people COULD raid both lockouts, but not everyone DID. A return to this as an option would be enjoyable for those of us who frequently feel that wow is boring with nothing to do when our raid lock is done for the week.
Twill Nov 11th 2011 1:01AM
Sorry MemoryBurn, but I'm holding my ground here.
There are hardcore raiding guilds that down content.
There are casual guilds that don't down content for a long time.
I like being with a guild that get shit killed. I don't feel like seeing Rag's fierybutt more than I have to. After a while a tier becomes a grind because we've done all the bosses so many times. I like WoW. I like living out of WoW too. I do NOT want to be forced to spend more time in WoW than I need to (to stay with a good progressing guild).
Hih Nov 11th 2011 1:11AM
I wish it was there as an option, even if it was just making the "2 a week" more flexible. Someone in a heroic raiding guild isn't going to want to do LFR for gear two tiers lower in power and fights missing two thirds of their mechanics. Why not give them the option to clear it twice on heroic? As long as it's an option and not "Kill Deathwing twice a week or your character is deleted", I don't see what the problem is.
More raiding is a good thing, no?
Ace Nov 11th 2011 1:11AM
"This was a test for us to see how it could affect raid participation by changing the lockout system of older raids. "
Exactly how many "good progressing guilds" have you joined that "force" you to raid old content every lockout?
Poltergeist Nov 11th 2011 1:44AM
@ Twill
"There are hardcore raiding guilds that down content.
There are casual guilds that don't down content for a long time."
You forgot about my favorite type of guild. The casual guild that clears content quick enough for me to never care about people who take their video gaming way too seriously.
Lumping the entire population into two polar opposite categories is a bit presumptuous.
Killik Nov 11th 2011 4:20AM
It's interesting that giving people the option of doing something is seen as making it compulsory. You can look at the same kind of mentality with stuff like Replenishment - a buff you have the opportunity to take, but feel gimped if you don't.
I think a lot of WoW's playerbase has a compulsive personality type and allowing two current tier raid lockouts per week would mean they felt they *had* to do them, to avoid being left behind.
Though this is all moot, as the raid finder offers a more elegant solution, allowing players to raid as often as they want but only granting loot once.
Angus Nov 11th 2011 7:49AM
You know, some of us would farm those earlier bosses to get the people that have yet to see an item drop even once a chance to get that damn helm or shoulders and not sit in the Blue 346 still.
Ugh
lolikitty Nov 11th 2011 9:23AM
@ Poltergeist
Casual guilds that clear content while enjoying a super relaxed atmosphere (which from my experience always leads to specific and most annoying problems like people not showing up when they're supposed to) are very rare in my neck of the woods. I've sadly come to the conclusion that in every guild that clears content, there's at least one third of the people who take things reaaally seriously and won't hesitate to let everybody else know, if you catch my drift.
mem0ryburn Nov 11th 2011 1:24PM
@ Twill
Hold your ground all you want, fact is if you feel forced into something in a video game then you're doing it to yourself. Besides that, it's outdated, or nearly outdated, raid tiers they were going to give the option for and your argument feels to me like you're missing that point.
Twill Nov 10th 2011 10:18PM
And thanks for the Zelda bit there :D
Yorbo Nov 10th 2011 10:32PM
*sigh* To all the folks who didn't catch it. The twice weekly raid resets would have been for *PREVIOUS* tier raids. Allowing those who need a bit more gear for current tier, or who want to gear up an alt for the current tier more options to do so.
Mycroft Nov 11th 2011 1:09AM
I really would have liked the lockout change for old content. Punch two ponies in the face trying to get a pony, demanding my eye from Raggy twice a week, and otherwise having a greater chance to get transmog gear. Isn't that what they did with ZG, letting you go twice a week (prior to removing it for cata)?
Also, what's this about additional chances for gear? I thought they stated you could only loot a RF boss once a week, and couldn't farm it.
