I've never been good at it in WoW, because it means you don't get to play the game much, I know someone with 70,000+ gold and they're just auction house junkies.I'd rather just buy what I can afford, work for the expensive things, and enjoy the rest of the game.

dude, most of the people i know (including myself) that have accumulated 100k+ gold are not auction house campers. They do just enjoy the game. The AH is just part of it, takes a few minutes to scan the AH, load up lil sparky's, cut some gems make some glyphs, toss em up there, and go about your business. Easily done in 15 minutes while you're waiting for your 5man queue to pop, or your raid to start.

It requires a strategy rather than time. I know people with plenty of gold, but they don't spend all day glued to the AH. Playing the market is something they enjoy, so they find interest in keeping track of what's selling, what are the cheapest ways to score mats etc. It's another aspect of game that you can participate in, if you want to. Doesn't have to be a grind.
