I have a large amount of gold because I've been playing a long time and I'm a miser. I think the most I've ever spent on anything the AH is about 500g, though off-hand I can't remember anything over 350g. So it piles up -- silly, but such is the way of the miser. I'm the same way in real life. If my account drops below where it was the same time last year, I feel poor. A bit odd I guess.
