The Queue: Genesis
I gave you guys Civilization last week or the week before; now see how it all began with Genesis.
Ghost asked:
The real question about monks is why are they wearing leather and not cloth? (And before you say anything about not adding an armor type for a single spec, consider holy paladin...)
Archetypal fantasy monks, like the kind you see in D&D or EverQuest or any other fantasy RPG, can wear leather armor. You have to keep in mind that these are warrior monks. We're not talking St. Francis here.
And spell plate is the reason why monks won't have a special kind of armor all to themselves. It's a massive headache.
Elwoods asked:
There was once a mention of increasing hit caps for later raid bosses, has the ever been mentioned again?
It was quietly shelved, never to be spoken of again. Probably.
Starlin asked:
With the pvp season ending as early as the 15th, any chance we could get 4.3 that day too? There's a release build on the PTR. The stars are aligned. Any precedent for a gap between season end and a new patch?
Not happening, unfortunately.
Glaras asked:
Question: After MoP hits, will players leveling through, say, Uldum have the change to get "Stood in the Fire"? I mean will Deathwing still occasionally torch the place and barbecue a few players?
I would definitely assume not. He'll still be around in 4.3, though.
John asked:
Can we get some clarification about how many times per week we can kill a boss in the DS raid?
As many times as you want, but you only get loot from the boss the first time you kill it. Keep in mind that your kills in Raid Finder do not affect your normal and heroic lockouts or loot eligibility in any way.

Remembrance day you say? Wonder if people do remember that 11 nov 1918 WorldWar one "ended".
fudge Nov 11th 2011 1:17PM
So, is Remembrance Day for Allied soldiers only? I've a couple of relatives who thought in the great wars, only on the losing side.
Nadia Nov 11th 2011 1:20PM
/thanks for giving up your time and sometimes your lives to make ours better.
/salute for doing what the rest of us can't.
fudge Nov 11th 2011 1:31PM
Fought, obviously.

They shall grow not old,
as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them,
nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun
and in the morning
We will remember them
In memory of the 158 Canadians killed in Afghanistan.

/salute to all the veterans out there who either have served or are currently serving, such as the feral cat columnist, Chase Hasbrouck.

For the career soldiers who keep the vigil, in times of war and in times of peace, we salute you. Your assiduous dedication to the safety of your countrymen forms the wall around civilized society that makes our peaceful, prosperous lives possible. Without your constant vigilance, the lights would go out even at the best of times.
For the conscripted men, reservists and sometime-soldiers, we salute you. Your self-sacrifice in times of greatest need helps to ensure our safety, and your skillful operation in multiple spheres of society does great good across all the land. You truly understand the sacrifice required of every citizen to keep a society functioning.
And to those who have been injured or fallen in battle, we salute you. Your blood is the unfortunate price of life, freedom, justice and happiness for others. The violence that you have done and had done to you is one of the primal chords that binds all generations and all peoples together, no matter how disparate. Whether you believed strongly in what you suffered for or were merely doing your duty, your sacrifice was meaningful all the same.
Thank you, deeply. Without the sweat, blood and tears that all of you shed, the indignities that you suffer could have happened to me, or my elderly neighbors, or the children down the block. I am safe and happy, and you are responsible. God bless you all.
lady.silverdragon Nov 11th 2011 5:14PM
Well said! I also hope that all those who are still serving come home safe and sound. Thank you all for your service!
Paciphae Nov 11th 2011 10:25PM
Since we also have Memorial Day, for those who died serving our country; I'm assuming that Veterans Day is for those who are still among the living?
Grovinofdarkhour Nov 11th 2011 11:09AM
OK, that last answer sounded like you thought he was ONLY asking about the LFR tool.
I am under the impression you can still only kill each boss once on Normal or Heroic (one of the two, not both), and unlimited times on Practice Mode through the LFR tool.
Shinae Nov 11th 2011 11:11AM
You are both correct; that was just different ways of saying it.
Grovinofdarkhour Nov 11th 2011 11:11AM
Per week, that is.
Cyno01 Nov 11th 2011 11:09AM
IIRC, deathwing will still be randomyl raining destruction down untill he's killed on your realm once. Kinda like the statue going up in dalaran for the server first LK kill.
And the hit cap thing, thank god that never happened, it's always nice getting your hit cap in the first raiding tier and then being able to focus on your secondary secondary stats.
Mr. Crow Nov 11th 2011 11:41AM
There has been no confirmation yet that Deathwing will stop raiding zones after he's killed on your server. That was mentioned back when it came out, but there's been no indication that this will actually be the case.
It's also important to note that getting killed in either Deathwing encounter in any iteration of the Dragon Soul raid will also net you the Stood in the Fire achievement.
So the only people who are going to lose out on getting the achievement are going to be people who absolutely refuse to raid.
Docseuzz Nov 11th 2011 11:43AM
I remember the CMs saying this too - DW will rain fire until he's killed (don't know if normal or heroic). However, on the PTR, I got 'Stood in Fire' on a RF spine of deathwing wipe - since deathwing killed me, I don't know if the achievement will still come on that fight once someone downs him on your realm...
loop_not_defined Nov 11th 2011 11:56AM
When Blizzard first talked about it, they did say Deathwing might stop torching zones after he dies. Since then, though, they said he'll probably keep torching 'til the end of the expansion.
Schadenfreude Nov 11th 2011 11:56AM
Oh man, I hope this makes it through to live-- I've never been torched by Deathwing. Got there too late plenty of times, though.
Bob Nov 11th 2011 3:12PM
Why wouldn't he keep blazing fire on people? I thought that the old world, Outland and Northrend are all in the past. That is why the Lich King is still around when questing through Northrend. And somehow Pandas get to go to Outland even though they didn't leave their island till well after...
JattTheRogue Nov 11th 2011 4:04PM
For people saying Deathwing will rain fire until he is killed, remember that being killed in-game and being killed in lore are completely different things. In lore he might not be considered dead until the next expansion comes out. Who knows, they may let him keep burning things only until he is actually killed by a raid group on the server, but no one knows yet, even if someone from Blizzard has said he would burn things until killed.
The Dewd Nov 11th 2011 11:10AM
Just to clarify, because I to make sure...
Blizzard is not setting up the raid finder with a "run the raid until YOU get loot" system, right? You will see loot drops the first time you kill a boss every week and if you don't win anything, you either have to do the regular or heroic versions - but you can still go back and get more time in on the boss or help friends or whatever, right?
