The Queue: Genesis
I gave you guys Civilization last week or the week before; now see how it all began with Genesis.
Ghost asked:
The real question about monks is why are they wearing leather and not cloth? (And before you say anything about not adding an armor type for a single spec, consider holy paladin...)
Archetypal fantasy monks, like the kind you see in D&D or EverQuest or any other fantasy RPG, can wear leather armor. You have to keep in mind that these are warrior monks. We're not talking St. Francis here.
And spell plate is the reason why monks won't have a special kind of armor all to themselves. It's a massive headache.
Elwoods asked:
There was once a mention of increasing hit caps for later raid bosses, has the ever been mentioned again?
It was quietly shelved, never to be spoken of again. Probably.
Starlin asked:
With the pvp season ending as early as the 15th, any chance we could get 4.3 that day too? There's a release build on the PTR. The stars are aligned. Any precedent for a gap between season end and a new patch?
Not happening, unfortunately.
Glaras asked:
Question: After MoP hits, will players leveling through, say, Uldum have the change to get "Stood in the Fire"? I mean will Deathwing still occasionally torch the place and barbecue a few players?
I would definitely assume not. He'll still be around in 4.3, though.
John asked:
Can we get some clarification about how many times per week we can kill a boss in the DS raid?
As many times as you want, but you only get loot from the boss the first time you kill it. Keep in mind that your kills in Raid Finder do not affect your normal and heroic lockouts or loot eligibility in any way.

Right.
The Dewd Nov 11th 2011 11:19AM
Ok, thanks. The wording's always been a bit vague on this because they're pushing the "you can run it as often as you want" aspect of it. Plus I could have sworn that they said that, at one point, they were considering* letting you have multiple goes at every boss until you got loot and I've never seen a blue post that expressly said they backed away from that.
*Yeah, I know, when they talk like that who knows what'll happen. But at least we know, whatever it is, it'll happen "soon".

Yes.

I'm putting this here as a reference to anyone with questions about the Raid Finder (not just The Dewd) :)

Don't ever remember that Genesis song. But then again I am more of a post-Gabriel fan.
Shinae Nov 11th 2011 11:15AM
I love Peter Gabriel, with and without Genesis.
Noyou Nov 11th 2011 11:27AM
I like him better without, although I haven't heard all of his Genesis stuff. Biko is one of my favorite songs of all time.
AdamBudden Nov 11th 2011 11:31AM
The song is called Genesis, the band is Justice.
Shinae Nov 11th 2011 11:32AM
@AdamB.
I can't see it at work.

The recent unveiling of Pandas, the Corpsegrinder incident, and the burning of Theramore leak have all caused quite a stir among the WoW community. What I'd like to know is are these the biggest uproars you've seen? What event (ingame or out) has caused the biggest outrage among its playerbase? Measured by forum posts, blue responses, and subscription changes?
Maymer Nov 11th 2011 11:17AM
I remember the great Real ID fiasco...you young whippersnappers!
Having your Battle.net ID (aka pretty much always your real name) appearing everytime you posted on the forums, and not your selected game character.
THAT by far was the craziest upset I've seen.
Shinae Nov 11th 2011 11:17AM
I bet the biggest uproar was from the announcement that Real ID was going to be displayed on everyone's official forum posts.
MattKrotzer Nov 11th 2011 11:17AM
The RealID fiasco from last year. WoW hasn't had any bigger community response than that.

When they announced they were changing the Official Forums so that you would only be able to post using your real name, the shit didn't just hit the fan, it got stuck in a vortex that kept pulling it through that same fan for three weeks straight.
(Yes, they discarded that plan, and soon thereafter we first heard about "Titan" - the heavily-guarded new IP which will apparently exploit social media synergies, etc. in a way that was just "too cumbersome for a game like WoW.")
The Dewd Nov 11th 2011 11:25AM
The real question is - does anyone remember old "confetti form" priest thread or whatever that thing was?
Nipah Nov 11th 2011 11:36AM
Nerfing Shaman's WF.
Bus shock.
dot shock.
When Warriors crashed servers.
Real ID.
Muse Nov 11th 2011 11:42AM
While nowhere near the RealID incident, the zombie invasion between BC-Wrath was simultaneously very loved, and very, very hated, primarily because it created enforced PvP, and disrupted both the AH and some low-level areas.
Amaxe Nov 11th 2011 12:40PM
Ah yes, the real id thing was the reason I put "parental controls" on my account even though I'm an adult. I keep Real ID deactivated.
Fweet Nov 11th 2011 1:14PM
Does anyone here remember when a "" in "Delete all mail >30 days old."?
This happened right before Wrath came out, I think (I remember pets and mounts were still inventory items at the time), and everybody's mail that was less than thirty days old got dumped into the Twisting Nether. I don't know if the WI community uproar'd but it was certainly a bad day for some Blizzard employees.
