i still feel that they are stripping some of the most de facto spells from the fire spec. i cant seem to see why a frost mage would want dragon's breath. (and i know the answer is why not) to me from a "lore" stand point a fire mage should all the spells that make it a FIRE mage. i do agree that it is intresting to make the mage talent tree more useful to mages and give them more utility for whatever spec they are in.demonalogy warlocks should be able to summon as many demons they want to have their daily pillow fight party.and fire mages should have all the fire spell at their disposal to set said sissy pants warlock on fire and have a nicely seared imp kabob for snack.

I think so too . . . each spec should FEEL different and have different spells unique to their own tree. Right now, I think we have it, with some utility spells going across the specs (counterspell, polymorph, invis, cone of cold . . .) but they are used for utility, not so much for dps. (While CoC does damage, other specs use them for the slowing effect mostly). Dragon's Breath is very fiery, as is Blast Wave.I would much rather see AM on the move than arcane having to use Scorch. Or how about Arcane Bullets . . weaker form of AM that can be used on the move? While fire should remain the MAIN DoT/AoE spec, I think Arcane and Frost should have their own DoTs. Or maybe frost has a few, I don't know. Arcane . . . not sure how it should be but they should have their own that feels . . . arcane-y. As I see it, arcane is the energized manifestation of pure mana, rather than mana turned into other elements, so the DoT effect should somehow reflect that. I'm probably trying to make the spell designers' job a bit harder, but I'd love to see each talent in a tier have a similar effect on different spells depending on your spec. (LIke, one choice would have you enhancing CoC, Dragon's Breath and Slow, for example, and another would maybe give you a chance to get a brand new spell effect or two, either one which would fit all three specs well or diff ones for each, but sill allow us to keep the baseline abilities of CoC, Dragon's Breath and Slow, without the enhancement, if we choose the other ones. This is just a wish on my part of course. Bur right now, mages, as squishy as we may feel now, have some great tools at our disposal (I've used CoC, Ring of Frost, Dragon's Breath, Blastwave, Frost Nova, and Iceblocking after Cauterize, all in one fight, and realized how many tools we have for survival . . . and would be fantastic if we could keep most of them). Maybe being greedy but I've been LOVING my spec and class so much during Cata . . . and yes, this is a mage NOT whining about the state of things right now. :)
