Long story short, it isn't his guild anymore. He abandoned it, thats how you got control of it. The fact he came back now that YOU have put the hard work into making it semi-successful again is just reeking of douchebaggery. He left, guild almost fell apart, you guys saved it. You are the DM now (well, B is, but you might be soon), it is your guild, YOU are the ones that decide what happens.

X may have started the guild, but he lost any rights to it long ago, even without the underhanded ninja-GMing.
