Yep, go through with the name change, change the identity of his guild, and then, guess what? His old guild name will be available again. Let *him* start over if he wants to be guild leader so bad. He's underhanded, deceitful, and disrespectful. Tell him you plan on going through with your plans, offer to let him stay - *not* as an officer - but give him the option that if he wants to have "his guild" back, the name will be available for him to use.
