KOTOR? FPS? I think you're getting your games mixed up. Also, about the FPS viewpoint of Skyrim, I totally get it. The weapons don't feel like they have a ton of heft to them and the first person view can get a little wonky sometimes.

I can look past it! I commend you on trying though; the Elder Scrolls really aren't for everyone. I don't even view it as an RPG, to be honest. More like a fantasy life simulator. I mean, by the balls of the Nine Divines (or Eight, if you believe the Imperial propaganda!), the last few tasks that I completed were uniting two star-crossed lovers, looking for a ghost girl, getting married, slaying a dragon and mammoth at the same time, and rearranging my bookshelf in my house.
