Jaina Proudmoore: Tides of War available for preorder on Amazon

The next novel in the Warcraft series, Jaina Proudmoore: Tides of War, is now available for preorder on Amazon. Tides of War is being written by Christie Golden, who has given us some really amazing novels over the past couple of years in both The Shattering and Thrall: Twilight of the Aspects. So far, all we know about Tides of War is that it involves Jaina, that she has some changes coming, and that her story is going to begin to take the tension between the Alliance and the Horde up a few notches, according to the World of Warcraft, StarCraft and Diablo Swag Show panel at the San Diego Comic Con earlier this year.
According to Amazon, the release date for the title is June 12, 2012 -- but be aware that release dates may change at any time. Regardless of release date, it's looking like this novel is going to cover a lot of territory for the Alliance, something that most players have been feeling as being lacking in Cataclysm -- and with Golden's track record, it's guaranteed to be a book you won't want to miss. You can preorder your copy of the hardcover edition for $17.16, or preorder the Kindle edition for $12.99.
World of Warcraft: Cataclysm has destroyed Azeroth as we know it; nothing is the same! In WoW Insider's Guide to Cataclysm, you can find out everything you need to know about WoW's third expansion, from leveling up a new goblin or worgen to breaking news and strategies on endgame play.

You do realize this is probably the first sign of when the next expansion is coming right?
SamLowry Nov 15th 2011 7:41PM
I see what you did there.
Clairisse Nov 15th 2011 6:06PM
I'll be very sad if the Amazon release date is correct :(
Mackenzie Nov 15th 2011 6:07PM
So...MoP around that time then?
facepalmer2 Nov 15th 2011 6:09PM
That's a really bad-ass photo! ^_^, I wouldn't mess with her! o.O

Horde Fan Boi here, and I approve this message.
Eternauta Nov 15th 2011 10:00PM
Same here.
And I hope she kills Garrosh.
Pyromelter Nov 15th 2011 11:02PM
Horde here also, and just killing Garrosh is not enough punishment. She needs to selectively remove parts of his brain so he ends up with the intellegence of a wolf, and become's jaina's pet and guard dog. And then one night a drunken Varian takes him swimming, but he doesn't know how to swim and he drown, while also being set on fire from the inside with mage combustion spell.
And that still probably wouldn't be enough punishment, but at least it'd do the job.

I am mega-hugging the honorable Hordies! I really mean that.
For all the rest of the crap we've argued about we are in agreement on this. Theramore is part of the honor of the horde and I hope that, from both sides of the fence, there are leaders that are NOT children in big-boy/girl pants. :)

You would have to add to his brain capacity to bring him up to the intellectual level of our four-legged furry friends.
I'm horde too.
K.B. Nov 15th 2011 6:20PM
I wonder if she will be captured by the Horde when they destroy Theramore.
Draev Nov 15th 2011 6:27PM
Nah Jaina won't be captured, more like she is gonna snap when it happens. The horde is gonna rue the day they messed with Lady Proudmoore.
Pyromelter Nov 15th 2011 11:03PM
She's a frost mage. She can blink, ice barrier, invis, and then teleport herself anywhere on azeroth. Unless they put some kind of anti-magic collar or cage on her, there is no way to keep her captured.
thawedtheorc Nov 16th 2011 2:02AM
She will be killed, but since Sylvanas hates Garrosh, she rez's Jaina into a Banshee Mage!
They bring The Forsaken into the Alliance.. and hell the rest of the Horde except the Orcs join. Garrosh drinks Demon GoGo Juice and the Orcs fight every damn body!!! Just like the Old Days!
For the Horde!!
It could happen.

If you consider the "Leaked" Timetable, which has been correct so far, MOP is slated for Q2 2012.
June 12 IS a Tuesday.
Bingo! We have a release date for MOP!
Anne Stickney Nov 15th 2011 6:35PM
I would not be so hasty to assume anything in regards to book release dates and how they relate to game release dates. Two different departments.
jon.stewart Nov 15th 2011 6:49PM
The 12th wouldn't make sense for the xpac release. Obviously, this book is playing right into the MoP storyline of a horde/alliance war... very similar to the way the Shattering played into Cataclysm.
The Shattering was released what... a week before 4.0 dropped? June 12th (or more likely June 19th) would be a realistic drop date for patch 5.0 instead.
And that would put beta... ?
jon.stewart Nov 15th 2011 6:51PM
And MoP launch in July of course.
jfofla Nov 15th 2011 6:52PM
Anne,
Would they spoil the MOP release by putting the book out first?
Also, Blizzard has said they want expansions every year and a half.
June fits.

It's more of a matter of publishing dates not being set in stone. Amazon's got a release date, yes -- but that release date isn't a final release date. It could change. I've seen them change before (most recently with Wolfheart).
