Jaina Proudmoore: Tides of War available for preorder on Amazon

The next novel in the Warcraft series, Jaina Proudmoore: Tides of War, is now available for preorder on Amazon. Tides of War is being written by Christie Golden, who has given us some really amazing novels over the past couple of years in both The Shattering and Thrall: Twilight of the Aspects. So far, all we know about Tides of War is that it involves Jaina, that she has some changes coming, and that her story is going to begin to take the tension between the Alliance and the Horde up a few notches, according to the World of Warcraft, StarCraft and Diablo Swag Show panel at the San Diego Comic Con earlier this year.
According to Amazon, the release date for the title is June 12, 2012 -- but be aware that release dates may change at any time. Regardless of release date, it's looking like this novel is going to cover a lot of territory for the Alliance, something that most players have been feeling as being lacking in Cataclysm -- and with Golden's track record, it's guaranteed to be a book you won't want to miss. You can preorder your copy of the hardcover edition for $17.16, or preorder the Kindle edition for $12.99.
World of Warcraft: Cataclysm has destroyed Azeroth as we know it; nothing is the same! In WoW Insider's Guide to Cataclysm, you can find out everything you need to know about WoW's third expansion, from leveling up a new goblin or worgen to breaking news and strategies on endgame play.

BTW Anne, I am a big fan of your work here, and on podcasts!

Please tell me you aren't talking about that image with the timeline spelled out in a letter.
That's fake. It's been proven. Remove the "?tags" at the end of the address, and you see the correct upload date.
The guy uploaded a letter with blank parts. Then a day after BlizzCon, he uploaded images with all of the info and they were put into the blank parts. It's been edited so it looks like it was uploaded months ago, when it was last edited right after BlizzCon.

In case you weten't aware, most media companies have gone for the Tuesday release thing for several years, be it movies, games, cds, or books. Unless it's somethong they want to market as a Special Snowflake, everythong releases on Tuesday. The fact that Blizz also does maintainence on Tuesdays has little to do with it.

Stormrage was released about 9 months before the release of cataclysm.
"February 23, 2010"
If we go by that time frame MoP wouldn't come out until february-march of 2013. One would hope it would not take that long to get MoP out.

I don't care if she cries or not. I don't care if she's proud of "her" king or not.
She needs to stop interrupting fights and being the peacemaker.
She needs to make Garrosh and the Horde take her seriously.
Woman needs to blow some $#!^ up.
And if/when she does...
It will be EPIC.

On one hand, I agree with you. On the other hand... She has been one of the only resonable voices in a stupid conflict for a LONG TIME!
I want her to kick ass because it needs kicking. I DO NOT want for her character to be compromised for a stupid conflict. Yeah, I said it. It's still stupid.
Her intelligence, honor, idealism and conviction are part of what makes her amazing - as far as I'm concerned. If Theramore get's a mega-spank, then yes, I say let her off the leash in a lot of ways. HOWEVER, I do not want a radical reversal of the character as she stands.
There are a lot of people calling for Horde blood with no consideration for what it makes US! I do NOT want to become a monster to fight Garrosh who, is a monster.

I want my story in the game, I have no intention in reading so-so books just to understand what I am playing. Sorry, never have and never will.

"Sir, we're running out of time for the expansion!"
"Quick, outsource the Alliance content!"

In-game or it didn't happen.

Yeah, I just can't put up with the pedestrian, awkward prose in order to get to the lore. Summaries only for me.
Rolly Nov 16th 2011 11:17AM
Could not agree more and to be honest this "Let's monetize the playerbase as much as we can" attitude is driving me away from the game.

I have high hopes for this book. Jaina is kind but powerful. Once the Horde destroys Theramore, I hope she cracks and turns bad ass on them. The Alliance are really missing a powerful leader that's in your face and Jaina could totally be that character. :D

Dark Phoenix Proudmoore FTW!

As Captain of the HMS Dawntreader, loyal ship of the Kul Tiras fleet, of which Lady Proudmoore is our royal sovereign, I look forward to our Queen blowing shit up!
Pre-ordering the book now.
LIGHT SAVE THE QUEEN!

I dont want to read about alliance stuff in a book. I want to see it in the game. Bets that the only thing thats going to make it to the game is Theramore smoldering, with most players asking "Wtf? Why is Theramore in flames?" In which case Blizz will tell us to read the book.
Eternauta Nov 15th 2011 10:03PM
^ This.
I am for the most part against telling major plot points exclusively in the books. And even more in this case since it's the perfect oportunity to show the Alliance some of the love that it desperately needs and deserves.

Less books more Warcraft 4 to set up new lore.
