My move would be something like your "Grip of Shadow", but instead of moving the target it would hold it in place. This should work like roots, but it should be a channeling ability (Rhasta like). This could have a lot of uses (and then get nerfed later), like:
- Hold a warrior away when he uses his cooldowns.
- Hold a mob away from the raid (maybe with a longer duration on NPC targets).
- Make the target bleed and then use it (something like: "I am recuperating and you are bleeding" thing).
It probably would be easily countered by deathgrip, the new vendetta, any ranged class and so on, but with everyone is getting a mobility boost, rogues should be allowed to steal it.
But my best idea is a "petrifying poison". This should be something like an ice-block on your target, usable on friends or enemies (or self). It would be great on pvp and pve, something you can use to cc or to save someone from death (we really need more raid utility).
