The Queue: Which poster should I get next?

As my awesome wall of gaming posters and art is coming together, I am at an impasse. There is room on the wall for one more large WoW patch art poster, and I don't know which to get. There are two that I want, but I can't decide. You're going to help me out, The Queue. The Ahn'Qiraj patch art is already on my wall, but you know that if you've seen my YouTube stuff or the new WoW Insider Weekly News Update in sparkling video form. Here are my options for my next PrintWarcraft purchase:
- Fury of the Sunwell, patch 2.4
- Secrets of Ulduar, patch 3.1
Hensonite asked:
What am I transmogrifying - the look of an individual item or the look of a "slot"?
Example: If i transmogrify my helmet to look like goggles, will only that helmet change its appearance or will everything I wear on my head be displayed as those goggles?
You transmog the look of an individual item, not the slot that it goes in. Transmog works like an enchant that changes the appearance of the item, which is why it gets ripped off when you put a transmogged item into void storage.
Manowarrior asked:
Is it just me or does it seem like regular tues morning maintenance is a thing of the past? Can't remember the last time it happened other than for a patch. Did blizzard improve something?
The regular maintenance schedule still happens and Blizzard still accounts for it, but sometimes there is no need for it and rolling restarts are good enough. My guess is that Blizzard runs some diagnostics over the course of the week, and if numbers come up green, servers don't have to go down for an extended period of time. Also, if there are no huge fixes, bugs, game-breaking exploits, or assets to add, then there is just no need for downtime. The technology has improved considerably since six years ago.
Jestin asked:
If I'm looking to break into the WoW TCG, what would be a good box to buy? I'm looking through all of the xpacs available on the website and there are just so many. I'd like to find one that can ease me into the gameplay, has potential for some neat loot cards and has great art. Any thoughts?
If you would like to hop into the WoW TCG, your best bet is to start with one of the complete class starter decks. Each class starter deck comes with a 60-card, ready-to-go deck for playing the game. There's a rule book in the package as well. If you have a favorite card shop or hobby store that sells trading card games, it might even have a deck there that you could try one of the nights that people go and play the game. Plus, the class starter decks don't break the bank in the cost department.
The other option for breaking into the game is to go see the cool folks over at Cryptozoic in person at one of the Darkmoon Faire events. The next U.S. ones are starting up in 2012. Going to the events is an awesome way to break into the game because you get to sit down and play the game right away with people who want to teach you as well as potentially getting some discounts on products. Plus, the people at Cryptozoic are really nice.
Valorum asked:
I know absolutely zero about pokemon. How far behind will I be when this feature appears in WoW?
You will not be behind at all when the Pet Battle system comes in Mists of Pandaria. Everything is being built from the ground up for this new system, and everyone is coming in blind. If you've ever played a turn-based video game like an RPG, you'll have a working knowledge of the mechanics.
Ellesmere asked:
Do you think garrosh likes cake, pie, or cookies more?
Pizza.

I really love that Fury of the Sunwell artwork but it always looked to me like one of his wings was on upside down

Ulduar is way better than The Sunwell in my opinion. Plus, I just like the artwork better for Ulduar.
I'd definitely go with the Secrets of Ulduar poster.

Between those 2 poster i vote for Sunwell, the hole raid and zone around it feel jsut so good and right.
Now, if can just acept a sugetion of fan art:

this one is just epic
Pyromelter Nov 16th 2011 2:49PM
Sunwell poster, defsh.
Ulduar was a better raid, but the sunwell poster is just way more mega epic than the ulduar one.
Anteia Nov 16th 2011 2:54PM
Agreed, Sunwell. Though personally, if I was just buying one from it... I'd have to buy the Black Temple first. Not necessarily because I loved that raid so much or anything, but just because it really looks awesome. But out of Ulduar and Sunwell's artwork, Sunwell wins.

1- Take down all the posters
2 - Wallpaper all the walls (preferably the ceiling as well) with Secrets of Ulduar.
3- ??
4- Profit!
Do it!
DO IT NAO!

I like the Sunwell poster better, but Ulduar means more, so dunno.
What I was considering at one point was one of the "make your own" posters that Kodak does at various outlets. I know you can't use copyrighted images, but not sure on screenshots or if they'd even notice. Put together a collage of my ensemble and done.

I loved Sunwell, but I like the art of Ulduar's poster better.
However - if you don't have it go for TBC Poster.
musicchan Nov 16th 2011 5:36PM
I'd go for the Ulduar posters myself. It's one of my favourite pieces of artwork to come out of Blizzard so far.
Scunosi Nov 16th 2011 9:09PM
Yeah, the widely different color schemes give them two separate moods that you can't really compare to each other. Do you want epic and actiony? Then I'd choose Sunwell. It's also got more going on, so I think it's a bit more interesting to look at. If your wall's lacking the color blue or less frantic imagery, then I guess you could go with Ulduar. Personally Algalon's not quite as iconic as KJ though, and with no little people for scale you lose the sense of how big he's supposed to be.
Also, that website doesn't support Chrome, hubb-what?

See? Bellajtok was right. You folks gotta listen to him more.
Bellajtok Nov 16th 2011 11:24AM
Ahh, the feeling of being right. It is heady and exhilarating.

Q for the Q;
Why do you think there is a level 2 (or better) restriction on guild transfers?
I was thinking of moving to a new server, but now I have to figure out a way to level my bank alt's guild so I can transfer the bank.
In a related question, what is the fastest way to level a guild by yourself?
Angus Nov 16th 2011 11:15AM
It's to stop bank alts.
Almost no one levels those banks.
But some folks have that bank full of gold.
What happens when someone and their bank moves servers? All that gold gets into the market on the new server.
This could cause issues, they put a gold cap on transfers for a reason.
Also, imagine that someone above is someone that got hacked.
You can get around this with a simple method. Put an 85 in the bank guild. Do molten front or other level 85 dailies for a little bit. At level 1 the xp the guild needs to ding ahouldn't take that long.
RGSmith Nov 16th 2011 11:15AM
I think its safe to say that lvl 2 requirement is to discourage personal guilds from transferring
llcjay2003 Nov 16th 2011 11:16AM
Unfortunately, you are in for a bit of a grind. That's all I can really say. There is no fast way to get guild exp by yourself. It would be faster if your toon was max level but below that, you are in for the long haul.
Puntable Nov 16th 2011 11:16AM
1. To make it a little harder to do what you are trying to do.
2. Put all your high level alts in the guild and quest. It won't take long.
