The Queue: Which poster should I get next?

As my awesome wall of gaming posters and art is coming together, I am at an impasse. There is room on the wall for one more large WoW patch art poster, and I don't know which to get. There are two that I want, but I can't decide. You're going to help me out, The Queue. The Ahn'Qiraj patch art is already on my wall, but you know that if you've seen my YouTube stuff or the new WoW Insider Weekly News Update in sparkling video form. Here are my options for my next PrintWarcraft purchase:
- Fury of the Sunwell, patch 2.4
- Secrets of Ulduar, patch 3.1
Hensonite asked:
What am I transmogrifying - the look of an individual item or the look of a "slot"?
Example: If i transmogrify my helmet to look like goggles, will only that helmet change its appearance or will everything I wear on my head be displayed as those goggles?
You transmog the look of an individual item, not the slot that it goes in. Transmog works like an enchant that changes the appearance of the item, which is why it gets ripped off when you put a transmogged item into void storage.
Manowarrior asked:
Is it just me or does it seem like regular tues morning maintenance is a thing of the past? Can't remember the last time it happened other than for a patch. Did blizzard improve something?
The regular maintenance schedule still happens and Blizzard still accounts for it, but sometimes there is no need for it and rolling restarts are good enough. My guess is that Blizzard runs some diagnostics over the course of the week, and if numbers come up green, servers don't have to go down for an extended period of time. Also, if there are no huge fixes, bugs, game-breaking exploits, or assets to add, then there is just no need for downtime. The technology has improved considerably since six years ago.
Jestin asked:
If I'm looking to break into the WoW TCG, what would be a good box to buy? I'm looking through all of the xpacs available on the website and there are just so many. I'd like to find one that can ease me into the gameplay, has potential for some neat loot cards and has great art. Any thoughts?
If you would like to hop into the WoW TCG, your best bet is to start with one of the complete class starter decks. Each class starter deck comes with a 60-card, ready-to-go deck for playing the game. There's a rule book in the package as well. If you have a favorite card shop or hobby store that sells trading card games, it might even have a deck there that you could try one of the nights that people go and play the game. Plus, the class starter decks don't break the bank in the cost department.
The other option for breaking into the game is to go see the cool folks over at Cryptozoic in person at one of the Darkmoon Faire events. The next U.S. ones are starting up in 2012. Going to the events is an awesome way to break into the game because you get to sit down and play the game right away with people who want to teach you as well as potentially getting some discounts on products. Plus, the people at Cryptozoic are really nice.
Valorum asked:
I know absolutely zero about pokemon. How far behind will I be when this feature appears in WoW?
You will not be behind at all when the Pet Battle system comes in Mists of Pandaria. Everything is being built from the ground up for this new system, and everyone is coming in blind. If you've ever played a turn-based video game like an RPG, you'll have a working knowledge of the mechanics.
Ellesmere asked:
Do you think garrosh likes cake, pie, or cookies more?
Pizza.

i've found that the molten front dailies actually provide a ton of guild xp. or maybe it's just questing in general, anyway, you should hit that every day.
You should invite a lot of random leveling players to your guild, even if they just stay for a day or what not, the act of them leveling up gives a lot of xp.
lastly, i saw a big spike in guild xp when i was doing 2's with another guildie. Idk if that was because i was doing the MF dailies at the time or if it was from the pvp. so invite someone to your guild with the explicit reason to pvp with them and see the xp roll in

Fury of the Sunwell, unless you have too much red on the wall already. The art for that one is damn incredible, though.

I like the cut of your jib, sir.
Ellesmere Nov 16th 2011 11:17AM
Not gonna happen. Mat has an obvious horde bias.

I balance it out with my gnome bias... and my extra T.
I sent this link to my wife and said "I want this for Christmas."
Ellesmere Nov 16th 2011 11:29AM
Hooray for extra T's!

I'm sad they don't have the Senj'in poster on there...
Though the Gnomer one is pretty badass in its own right, I prefer Trolls.

My vote is for the Ulduar one because I like the colors better.
(I'm not a fan of red.) Both look nice though.
Caylynn Nov 16th 2011 11:36AM
Ditto. I like the colours in the Ulduar one better. :)

Had a good time in Firelands, then, huh?
Matrillik Nov 17th 2011 8:05AM
Plus there's the whole issue with Ulduar being the best raid in WoW history. Vote Ulduar simply because of the memories. Oh Thorim you crazy guy.

My casual raiding team had a progression wipe to Staghelm at 20k health last night. Yes, a split second later and dots would have downed him. Could there be a more frustrating wipe? Wasn't that close enough? Should bosses despawn so fast after the last raid member falls?
As frustrating as it was, it's also hilarious to witness.

(yay, story time!)
This last weekend, I was in the longest H Stonecore run of my life, going through about 7 players before getting a team willing to learn the fights.
Everybody had died to Ozruk except me. Imagine a female draenei Unholy Death Knight, running, screaming, and flailing her arms in the air with a giant earthen beast in close pursuit. I don't know if it was the DoTs or Brainmuncher (or whatever the hell that rotting husk's name was), but within a second of dying myself, Ozruk fell.
GOOD ENOUGH.

"within a second of dying myself, Ozruk fell."
I absolutely love when a double KO happens during a progression fight.
Shyster Nov 16th 2011 11:58AM
I remember wiping on Sindragosa when she had 3k hp left, yeah... Needless to say I forbid anyone from speaking that name.
Grovinofdarkhour Nov 16th 2011 12:08PM
I really think that after the last raid member dies, the boss should stand there gloating while the remaining dots tick away before he can despawn. So if you were THAT close, so long as the last person didn't release instantly, he'd die while gloating over your corpses, you'd all get credit for the kill, run back in and profit.
If a random raid member dies during the fight, their dots continue to tick away on the boss, don't they? So why should they get truncated at the end?
MattKrotzer Nov 16th 2011 12:08PM
I remember tanking Sindragosa in my sleep, and using the DBM alert sounds as mini alarms to open my eyes and move.
It actually worked, which is the sad part.
thedoctor2031 Nov 16th 2011 2:54PM
When my guild was first progressing on Ragnaros pre-nerf, it was very sad at how many wipes we had at 11%. 4 wipes in a row, we had 11% 12% 13% and 11%. It's enough to make a grown man cry.
Mackgyver Nov 16th 2011 11:08AM
I could see Garrosh kicking a pizza boy off a cliff because they forgot to put anchovies on.
