I know this is a WoW blog and all, but during my present WoW break I have been playing DCUO. I have to say, it is damned fun and refreshingly different. I started out on the F2P when it went live but recently upgraded to legendary because I was having so much fun.Anyone else playing it and loving, liking, or hating it?I have to be honest, I have spent a good deal of time in the character creation screens. I loves making me some superheroes!

I'm intrigued to try it out. How limited is the F2P? I'm unlikely to add any other subscription games, but I loved City of Heroes back in the day... and I gave Champions Online a try, but it felt like a half-assed update to CoH, with no creative energy put into it.DCUO seemed interesting, but I approach these things warily.

The only real setback for the F2P that I noticed was the 2 toon restriction. Other than that, it is not very different at all (at least for leveling). Also, you only have to spend $10 in the online store to get upgraded to premium and you get 6 toon slots. I would recommend whatever the Green Lantern pack is because you get access to the "light" power class (which is awesome) as well as an endgame raid.

I played a little of DCUO (thanks for the heads-up, Steam!) and was mostly "meh" about it, aside from the fact that, for whatever reason, my mouse moves way way too slowly-- likely due to graphical stuff.Creating a superhero was fun. Using my powers for the first time was awesome. Then I left the starting event and... I dunno. It seemed to lose its luster. I like the looting system and how it kind of reminded me of many console games (e.g. breaking things apart for health or power boosts). Clicking to do an action brought me back to Diablo I and II. lol Maybe after I get used to the mechanics and know where things are in the main compound thingie, I'll like it better.

I wanted to get into DCUO when it was in Beta, but never got around to it. I may give it a shot this weekend if the TOR beta doesn't eat my life. It looked like a lot of fun.

DCUO is fun. There are some niggling annoying things about it (argh controls!) but overall, it's a blast to play. It's a nice change. My hero is Ravelynn and my villian is Carmina Styx, if anyone wants to say hi.I'm sticking with the F2P version because Steam has Oblivion on sale this week for 75% off. *flails*

Almost certainly, yes you will still be able to grind out the rep at 90. But you'll have to wait for MoP to even get started and if they go through with stat flattening in MoP, it may be no easier then than it is now. But even if Heroics weren't too difficult, a better bet would be to quest around Northrend. Quests that give rep for *any* of the 4 subfactions give half as much towards Horde Expedition rep as spillover. The Argent Tourney dailys are great as they're very quick to blaze through, half the rep given towards Sunreavers goes toward Horde Expedition and you work your way towards numerous achievements and some extra mounts and pets while you're at it.
