The WoW Insider Show Episode 220: The return of Matt 'n' Mat

This week's topics include:
- There's 10.3 million of us all.
- What happens when someone breaks the annual pass agreement.
- Is it time to kill the global cooldown?
Amalythst of the Barthilas Realm writes in:
Hi guys, big fan of the show. Keep up the good work. When I was questing through hyjal and came across the fire druids it got me thinking. If blizzard decided to introduce a new talent tree to each class what would they be?
Shmorrior of the Kilrogg realm writes to ask us:
Hey WoW Insider, long time listener with a question regarding the current war between horde and alliance. When Cataclysm launched, the horde gained a lot of territory. This was supposed to fix the imbalance in leveling between the two factions. Given Blizzard's goal of trying to put the "War" back in Warcraft and the fact that the zones the horde gained were due to military conquest, I'm having a difficult time thinking of ways the Alliance can meaningfully fight back that won't undo the zone balancing Blizzard has already done. Has Blizzard painted themselves into a corner here? Can the Alliance come back from the defeats they've suffered in Cata?
Seatus of Saurfang-EU asks:
Quick question that came to mind: what are the planets/moons that can be seen in the skies of Hellfire Peninsula?
And finally, Ralethisolur asks:
My question today is about blizzard's policy on Beta testers. Since the Star Wars beta went live this past weekend, I have noticed a few of my friends that did good beta testing in Wrath and Cata got invites to SWTOR, and the people that I know that just went to beta to dink around didn't get invites. Does Blizzard share its Beta testers with other companies; does it sell it?

Is there any non-Apple software I can use to download these episodes automatically as they appear?

I would love for Arathi to go to the Alliance's possession, with the Forsaken attacking it from the west. Especially if it were mainly settled by Gilneans.
jealouspirate Nov 16th 2011 8:56PM
I agree the Worgen need some more story love, but if anyone from the Alliance is going to 'settle' in Arathi I'd like it to be Danath Trollbane and the men & women of Stromgarde.
Really, the ideal plot for Arathi Highlands in my mind is "Danath Trollbane kills all the enemies".
It would also work for other zones.
Henry Nov 16th 2011 9:01PM
"Danath Trollbane kills all the enemies." I like that.
That was really a shortened version of my idea. I was actually thinking of a combined force of the....weakened?....human groups to retake it. This would of course include Danath Trollbane and other people of Stromgarde.
detailbear Nov 18th 2011 6:29PM
I was going to say, having the Alliance retake Stromgarde from the Syndicate and the ogres would allow for an Alliance win and taking of SOMETHING without taking away from the Horde. Everyone can still go after the ogres. The Horde can attack the rebuilding Stromgarde. The Alliance can attack Hammerfall and Galen's Fall. Everybody's happy!
Maybe Stromgarde can become a port (not at Faldir's Cove, but near the walls) and replace the waterlogged Menethil Harbor.

Please don't do this. If you do not have the energy to write out the answers, don't make us do homework by listening to a podcast. I can read WAY faster than you can speak and do not have time for this.

You do not have the time to listen to a podcast, so you clicked on the link for our weekly podcast and commented that you want us to type out an entire transcript of said podcast rather than listening to the podcast.
I'm boggled, really.

I for one like knowing the questions. Its nice to know what to expect. If you guys are going to be talking about stuff that I'm not interested in, I might not listen. Well, I'd listen, but I wouldn't pay as much attention.

Piss off troll.

Is Murozond a corrupted future-self of Nozdormu? It looked fishy because both names are anagrams
minduim Nov 17th 2011 7:21AM
Yes.

If territory never change hands (to preserve cata zone balance) then night elves will NEVER be able to retake Ashenvale.
That kinda sucks ... No matter what we do we will never EVER stop the horde from clear cutting some of the most beautiful night elf forests.
How does that Alliance rallying cry go again?
"Not in the Face?!!??!?!??!"
Lemons Nov 18th 2011 4:20AM
Technically Ashenvale hasn't changed hands. It's still a contested territory, just now it's more in the horde's favor. The Night Elves could come back and retake Astranaar and even Silverwing Refuge, but as long as there is a horde presence still exists in the area it would remain contested and the balance of zones would remain unchanged.
Will that happen? Probably not. At least not in MoP. I don't think revamping the vanilla zones a second time is on the agenda for that expansion.
Possum Nov 17th 2011 3:42PM
I shall download it today and listen to it after work. I hope this one doesn't also contain heaps of whining about how Blizzard loves horde more though that bit of your podcasts is getting a little old.

Just want to point out that Night Elves are vastly influenced more by Japanese while Pandaria is Chinese. Granted, the night elves come well before Blizz realized there was a difference (see old Pandaren drawings/issues), but still. Are both Asian/Oriental? Sure, but it's like saying the English and German have many similar influences. Possible common ancestry? Same "continent"/region? Similar look to the untrained eye? In many regards, yes, but still just so vastly different as they shouldn't be called the same.
Maybe not the best example, but I think you get the point.
